possibly reach the same conclusions regarding our beliefs?

I often find that in an interesting battle of wits, I and my worthy opponent (usually my husband) are usually debating the same point from opposite sides of the spectrum.

"what say you" with regard to the debate over belief or non belief in one God?

I can almost understand the anti Islam pamphlets, but anti JW, LDS, SDA (which I am), Pentacostal/Holiness, and Catholic pamphlets I cannot. Maybe It should say Baptist book store instead of "Christian" Bookstore. Or Anti everything but Baptist/Methodist Bookstore. How can it be a "Christian" book store and blast other denominations? They sure don't mind taking our money. What is the best course of action? Boycott, hide the pamphlets, ignore it, confront them?

Each religion seems to say that we must believe everything they "hand to us" without questioning it. They claim their interpretations, instructions, and beliefs come directly from God. And people believe this, even when these things differ from religion to religion. Each religion claims that only "their way" is the "right way". What about this: if God really is our Creator, and He resides inside of each of us, why then, can't we trust what our hearts (where He resides, and where he speaks to us from) is telling us about what is right and wrong? Why shouldn't we question what we hear (if it feels "wrong"?) when it comes from others? Is it not right to question what MAN tells us is divinely inspired? We have a "direct line to God" right here inside of us...and people do not listen. They listen to (and follow) what other MEN say they should.....and no one seems to think for themselves....they blindly follow....right off the path of real enlightenment. Your thoughts please?

I am thinking of doing a series on Judaism but I am not sure whether there are enough Jews here to answer my questions.

I live in the Bible belt. Everyone thinks THEY know everything there is to know about the word of Jesus. I believe Jesus himself could come down to earth and speak, and some of these people would be like, " No Jesus, you ment this in this vurse."

There was a Buddhist story about enlightenment that had the main character see through the clouds to the blue sky above. Seeing the sky was the equivalent to enlightenment and he tried to explain what the color blue was like to those who were not enlightened/had their heads under the clouds.

Does this ring a bell to anyone?

him/her, would the athiest go to heaven. If he/her was good for their whole life would God only take into consideration the fact that the athiest did not believe in him. Also are good deeds better when they come from a religous person

I crave the community of a chruch- but I feel awkward and unusure around all relgions I've been exposed to. What are some of the lesser known religions? What kind of sites focus on these. Is there any sort of a "religion search" where I can state what is important to me and it will show things that are simmilar. (I have tried belief net but I'm looking for something simmilar but new)

For example, one may have non-practicing christians or non-practicing Muslims. My question is why are non-practicing christians still considered christians? why are practicing Muslims still considered Muslim. Isn't the whole idea behind having a religion is to practice it?

I've seen many postings from people of every walk who assume that "the other side" (whatever seems to be 'opposite' their belief) transcends into "they are not using their minds" or "they are not being logical".
why is that?
If everyone is supposedly illogical or not thinking, doesn't that mean that we are ALL illogical? Do we all NOT use our minds??

Everyone who has a computer now has the largest world library right in their own home--Now we know Jesus wasn't the first man/god to be born of a virgin--or the first to be called Savior of the world-or light of the world--or to be crucified & raised from the dead 3 days later--now we also learn that Moses stole the Kenites Storm God Yahweh.Surely all this information will lessen the dogmatic tenets of the religions???
