This is not to anyone in particular; but much of modern evangelicalism is based upon the same message Robertson preaches (hostility toward evolution, etc).

Wow! some of you Christians are siding with Pat Robertson and some OT mythology over the words of JESUS?
No wonder you guys follow Paul!

Because he is a flawed human being with extremely limited insight into what God really thinks.
Don't base your opinion on Christians soley on him.

Sounds like some aren't rightly dividing God's word as spoken in 2 Timothy 2:15 because Jesus says this in Luke also.
Luk 21:25 "And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,
Luk 21:26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Remember December 26 a couple years ago? over 100,000 died a terrible death because of the tsunami.
Very sad
Blessings.

A typical Fundamentalist statement. Only mentally challenged people will probably believe him.
God did not create a perfect world. In fact, God could have created a better world (St. Thomas Aquinas). God created this world "in a state of journeying." The more perfect exists alongside the less perfect. Nature has both constructive and destructive forces. Physical good will always be mixed with physical evil until creation reaches perfection.
Peace and blessings!
Edit: Fundamentalism is the height of bigotry and religious intolerance. This kind of spirituality has been responsible for religious wars.

An excellent question.
After all, Pat Robertson uses fear and the threat of hell (an imaginary place) to keep the gullible sheep in the pews and the collection plates full.
And THAT of course, is the real reason for religion. As Rev. Lovejoy put it on the Simpsons "ching! ching!"

Pat Robertson is a senile fruitcake who blamed 9/11 on homosexuals and claims to have a direct line to his god. He needs, more than anything, to be ignored and marginalized. Fortunately, his increasingly psychotic ramblings are accomplishing that. Unfortunately, there is still a core group of lonely, gullible people who apparently need his twisted message and keep sending him money. Personally, I pity them.

God has punished people with natural disasters in the Old Testament. Pat Robertson must be viewing it through that angle. (Not sure which verse you mean in Luke, so I won't address that part.)

Only people who don't suffer from natural disasters say things like that. Ask all the Christians in New Orleans if they believe God punished them and I'm sure they will tell you no.

Pat Robertson is a moron and I cannot understand how he has an audience. He has been instrumental in shedding life to Christian fundamentalism though and that is good.

Well because like most media attention whores, Pat Roberson knew that you should never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups.
