Hallo!
In order for someone to die should live, in the first place!
Being thinking person, I never got the proof that such a person (Jesus) ever existed!
Now, as for religion concerns, the Jews, Christians and Muslims believe, as their rulers imposed to them, that they were born sinners and a Messiah, Jesus or prophet will save them from the sin committed before they were born! Does it make sense? NO!!!!!! Well, this makes them religions of "smart" people! Hence, someone had to be sacrificed for the sin(s) committed before they were born! And voila! Here a Jesus is invented (as the sin is not real, Jesus does not have to be real either) to take the sin by his death!

Back in the OT laws, remember, any time someone sinned, in order to be forgiven, they had to make animal \sacrifices. They had to kill a perfect lamb, goat, etc.
Then they would be forgiven.
God decided to send His son, a PERFECT human, to die for everyone's sins, past, present, and future, so that these sacrifices would no longer be necessary.
Now, IF you love and trust God and accept Jesus's death for your sins, you must only try to live like Him, and treat others the way you want to be treated (that is the one law; if you do that, you will be cool with God).
You say wars were still going onm etc.
People have free will. They chose to commit those atrocities and not accept God. People will always sin. They do it daily.
I am a Christian, and I sin.
He did not die to stop people from sinning. He died so that they will be forgiven without all the sacrifices they used to have to make.
That is why this death was special.

He placed the need upon those who lived before the time of Jesus. The words God use are, " For sin comes death." The death of a sacrifice was not new to Judaism. They sacrficied certain things, animals and grains with or without oil, to typify what Jesus did.
This is especially apparent in the Passover lamb. Jesus was typified by the Passover tradition, which is why He is called the "Lamb of God".
So God looks at sin seriously. He does not want it at all around Him for eternity. And since it is so impossible for any one of us the get rid of it, He provided a way through His Son, Jesus Christ.
So it was not a new thing for there to be a sacrifice for sins to those in Judaism.

What's so special about it is that God sent His only begotten Son to die for us humans. Sometimes when I'm walking down the street I accidently step on an ant. I don't stop, fall prostrate on the sidewalk and cry out "oh no, I killed an ant........I'm a murderer"!
It's just an ant. Why should I care? But compared to God we are much less than an ant, in fact, much less than an amoeba. But God did care(John 3:16)! No other major religion has a God that went that far to save His creations and no other religion has a God that wants a personal love relationship with His creations that is a two-way relationship.
The Christian God is a God that is ruled by His own Holy Righteous Nature. You say, then God is not the ruler of the universe. He is ruled by something else. NO! He is ruled by His own nature. That is not something else. His nature is part of Him. He can never go against His own Nature and His nature is Perfectly Holy, Righteous and Just. Things aren't right because God choses to do them and that makes them right. It's just the opposite. God chooses to do them because they are right. Gods nature has certain attributes. One of those attributes is Love. Another one of those attributes is Justice. Perfect Justice demands that a price must be paid for all sin. That's even true of imperfect mankind. If I went out and stole a car and then wrecked it and then I was caught and the judge said "you deserve to go to prison but I'm a very loving judge so I'm going to let you go free", I'm sure most people would be appalled. When man sinned, God now had a dilemma with His own Nature. His Perfect Love wanted to redeem man and bring him back into fellowship with God. But His Perfect Justice demanded payment for sin. The Cross was Gods solution to that dilemma in His own Nature.
God the Father came up with a plan whereby God the Son would take on a 2nd nature(a human nature). That's called the Incarnation. God became man. He came to earth, lived a perfect life and actually paid for the sins of the world on that Cross. That satisfied the Justice of God. Now there was no more dilemma in the Nature of God. Gods Perfect Justice was satisfied and Gods Love was free to flow through to mankind. That's what Romans 3:26 means when it says "he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus". But God will not force His love on us. Forced Love is rape. God is not a divine rapist. We must, of our own free, accept Gods love. That's why, even though the door to heaven is open to everyone, we must walk through it of their own free will. We must accept Christ as our own personal savior.

If Adam's sin as one man could deny us from birth the very right that God intended us to have from the beginning than God had to find a way for one man to redeem and reverse original sin. Would you rather there be many Messiah's - would it make you feel better or more able to trust? Your and my sight is finite and we are not omnipotent - wouldn't you if you were an enemy of God's plan try your best to convince the world that 'nothing changed'. Yet, everything changed where before we had to rely on sacrifices to atone for the sin we would undoubtedly fall into, now we have a lawyer who speaks for us and all we have to do is say that we believe in Him and we're covered.

I'm puzzled myself as to why blood is needed to cover sins. Jesus's death is different because he was sinless. He was tempted in the same way we are, but never gave in.
A sacrifice had to be without deformity, blemish, or so on. He volunteered to become the perfect sacrifice to pay for every sin ever committed. If we accept this and agree to honestly TRY to live by his guidelines, his sacrifice covers our misdeeds. People have to accept Jesus's gift, for it to have any effect.
Like you, I serve my divine master. I'm not always the best servant, but I give it my best effort.
Sin continues to exist because people are created with free will. God could have created a world where everyone walks around like a zombie strumming a harp. I guess that sounded as dull to God as it does to us.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. May God bless you.

This "particular death" wasn't going to abolish sin! It was only going to make it possible to be forgiven of it. This is why mankind still has the ability to commit the foolishness we do sometimes. It all boils down to free will. If God IMPOSED salvation upon us through Jesus' sacrifice, our love for Him WOULDN'T be unconditional, would it? it would be FORCED and COERCED and that's not what God wants. He dies to save us from OUR SINS, not from sin itself. This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he said in part that "...We are ALL APT to sin (regardless of whether or not we have salvation)".

The death of Jesus was the full and satisfactory payment for the penalty of sin for every person in the world. God will not permit sinners to inherit eternal life with Him-and every last one of us is just that-a sinner. The Bible in many places-Jesus Himself said it-that the world would become more and more wicked as we approach the end of this age; you see, Jesus is going to return to this earth, but this time, to rule and reign as its King. He will preside over a world that is just, free of violence, wrongdoing, disease and hunger. Read the Gospels, the Gospel of John first, and get to know Jesus-who He is, and what He has in store for you.

God had demanded sacrifice for sin from isreal and they had to do it yearly or more often. but it was never realy enough they did not keep his comands. and the sacrifice was only a simble. Jesus was to be the perfect lamb of God the final sacrifice for all sin but we have to accept it and Jesus as our lord in order to reseave it. no it does not stop men sinning we are all sinners but if we see our need and accept Jesus he will change us from the inside.

Jesus did not come so that the world would be sin free but that through him they could be forgiven of their sin. The time will come when he will come back and his patience will run out and will judge the nations of their sins and end all of the madness once and for all.
