for example someone is sick and you buy them stuff and do all the things they needed to do trying to be nice and then had them not only not help you when you became sick, but purposely be rude to you and try to make you feel worse.

that's just an example, but have you ever been a situation like that? what are you supposed to do? Are you still supposed to be nice to them even though they hurt you when you are at your weakest, or next time they are ill or ask for your help should you just not help them? Because it seems like a pattern for this person to do this to me... and one more thing what if this person was your mother?

I dont understand this:
Its been proven that the "bible" was written in the 9th century, well after the coming of christ. during the times of the roman destruction, they destroyed ALMOST all of his teachings and made up their own version. The dead sea scrolls and the 10 commandments are the only documents dating between 1B.C and 2A.D.
So why do people ignore this fact and still live in ignorance instead of truly finding the path to God?

From a literal interpretation of scripture...if you do not turn from your supposed sin, you say you will go to hell...So,

-Considering the divorce rate is over 50%, and these people probably do not turn from sin by remaining celibate

-10% of the population is gay

-most in the U.S. are obese, and if you die fat, you obviously did not turn from your sin of gluttony

-many have filed bankruptcy or defaulted on student loans or credit cards, (biggie sin... 10 commandments of stealing)..and if you never repay this debt...you never turned from your sin.

So, all of the above people will go to hell if you believe fundamentally in scripture...so, who is left?

Looks like heaven will be a lonely place...your thoughts?

I follow a Vegan diet - and I'm trying to reconcile what the Bible says about things and what Vegans believe. It's really hard because you could really use the Bible to build a case for or against eating a vegan diet, or not wearing animal products and all. I think there's convincing Scripture on both sides.

Just because Man has dominion over animals doesn't mean that mass slaughter is ok. Every time an animal dies in Scripture it is directly due to SIN - so the animal pays the price for the man's sin. Animals die due to Man's sin.

You have verses like "Every creature of God is good if received with thanksgiving" etc, and you have God slaying an animal Himself, but obviously Adam and Eve were plant eaters to begin with not meat eaters. My understanding is that Jesus followed a vegan diet as well. There were many Scriptures about this on both sides. I don't think you can make a case for or against just because of one passage. It's just taking it all out of context.???

I'm sorry, that just sounds insane. "Oh! I love you..." then three months later, you piss them off or do something, and BAM. You get KTFO.

How do you do it?

God is not a God of division, and I can't imagine what this country is headed for. Do you ever think about other countries seeing our politicians and other topics in the news... what they must think.
How can we judge others when our country acts like spoiled rich kids who whine over "who licked the red off their
lolipop! Embarressment!

Luke 11:17 (written in red, Jesus said) ... "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against house falleth.

look at the meaness here, kidknapping, rape, murder, you name it .....
what do you think is going to happen when our soldiers do pull out and come home
The only hope is to keep your eyes on Jesus, His return can be any moment now.

Isaiah 5:14
Therefore hell hath enlarged herself and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

Judgement upon impiety...Isaiah chapter 5

I recently met a girl, (same girl as in all my other posts) who says that -

"by the scriptures, the first man on earth ADAM, was God in the flesh, before he Sinned"

my question is, what scriptures state this? And Does it say in ANY bible that Adam was GOD himself on earth?

Or are the people who state such things - LOST AND MISTAKEN?

All experts on the bible and scriptures i love to hear from as always! Thanks to all who respond!

I asked this of Christians and couldn't seem to get an honest answer.
Am I correct in assuming that to the Christian, knowledge found outside the Christian Bible is only permissible if it doesn't contradict scripture?

You know, things like beat your slaves, kill anyone who works on Sunday, kill anyone that commits adultery or that is homosexual, and so on....

My question is why the justification? Do you believe that the Old Testament is TRUE or NOT? Either it was written by the hand of God, or it wasn't. To say that the New Testament is "what they REALLY meant", isn't that saying the same thing as, "Silly God, he was such a joker back then!"

Without giving me the very predictable explanation of "it was a question of preparedness, and those were the old days" type of false logic, someone please explain to me how you can belive the Old Testament teachings as religous doctrine? Is killing people based on the day they work, or sexual orientation a sin (New Testament) or isnt it? (Old Testament)

Why are people contstantly putting them down.

Most I can tell comes from misconceptions about the catholic faith. Many dumb evangelicals come out with nonsense that isint true.

I am sure that we will have a lot of them respond to this question and make themselves look really stupid.

As an evangelical have you ever throught that you as a human being could be the primary source that keeps people from coming to Jesus.

The Bible does not have the words Global Warming nor does it have the Rapture yet we know the Bible speaks of one being left and one being taken, as it also speaks of climatic change in the earth and in the sun and stars and we are seeing all of this take shape.
Fish and Bees dying, massive floods and fires, enormous dust stroms on Mars, 'While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease' (Gen 8.22).
When Pharaoh refused to allow the Israelites to leave Egypt, God instructed Moses to 'stretch out his hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land - a darkness that could be felt' (Exod 10.21). This resulted in 'thick darkness in all the land for three days'.
God has used the weather to influence nations and individuals in the past.
Biblical prophecy says that God will use the weather to influence man's affairs at the close of this age.
Most scientists agree that the world's climate is changing rapidly

There'a big debate over evolution and Creation, and I've seen some posting that said God could have used evolution in His Creation. Let me point out some of the discrepancies between the two, and show why God couldn't have used evolution. First, evolution took billions of years, with pain, suffering, disease and death. The Bible says that pain, suffering, disease and death were a result of sin. The two are not compatable. Cosmic evolution teaches that the universe came into existance first, and then the Earth. The Bible says that God Created the Earth on day one, and the universe 4 days later. Evolution says that reptiles came first, and then birds evolved. But the Bible says that God Created the birds on day 5, and the reptiles on day 6. So the order of Creation is wrong. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God used evolution, but Created by the power of His Word. Do any Christians agree with me, that God could not have used evolution in His Creation?
