You know, I believe that it's the INDIVIDUALS that mess up the catholic name--NOT CATHOLICISM itself..The church is a place for people to worship God, and it's up to the INDIVIDUAL to follow God's will....I think you are a very confused soul....I will pray for you.

when the Pope says non catholics are not "true"Christan's......
HUMAN dogma smothers God's message
in my opinion MOST churches have fallen from the path so why should any specific denomination be any more or less right than another?
judge not lest you also be judged-love God-Love each other
are those 3 things so hard? apparently they are.
in my opinion quite a few self proclaimed "christians" are as blind as bats and just as ignorant of their own scripture, merely spouting the regurgitated remains of some HUMAN's interpretation instead of actually asking God for insight and guidance. They show up on sunday drop $50 in the plate and consider themselves christains while the homeless guy down the street gets to watch them in their fancy clothes and nice car and wish one of them would give him $5 to get some food.
my karma ran over my dogma....I only hope yours will too
peace

It`s not so cut and dry these day`s and there are many reasons why the other Christian denominations put the Catholic church down, one of the common reasons is now tribalism, the mentality that insists we are right so everyone else has to be wrong!
One of the most dangerous reasons is not quite so clear to most people however and it is this, Jesus founded the church on Peter and said that the gates of Hell would never overcome this church but that does not mean that Hell has not tried and will continue to do so, in other words anyone who fights against the church regardless of who or what they are will be unwitting agents of these Hellish attacks.
This is plain fact and pride and stubborness will prevent most from realizing this.

Well, you've made a lot of generalizations that make it difficult for me to understand what your real question is, much less respond in a way that makes me look "really stupid." But I'll tell you this: I grew up Catholic, and I've researched the religion, and if I were a betting woman, I'd lay strong odds that I knew more about it than you do. And that is why I am not Catholic any more. And if you were so inclined as to post a few examples of the "dumb evangelical nonsense that isint (sic) true," I would be perfectly inclined to present a whole lot of Catholic nonsense that is patently, biblically untrue.
.... and I'm still waiting. ANYONE?

Here it is passed down from all who persecuted in Old World from generation to generation. Are there good Catholics yes most definitely but the way they make Pope the emissary of God on earth has lead to many atrocities especially when government involved and then most recently the cover up of priest molesting. But I'm pretty much against most organized religion they get to big for britches.

And why do they ask the same questions about Catholics over and over again. And refuse to accept the truth when you answer honestly and with citations to back up your answer. I am not Catholic, but I often answer the slanderous questions posted about Catholicism with the truth. My question is why do Christians ask "sincere" questions if they do not want to learn? Why do they always give the best answer nod to someone who doesn't answer the question, choosing to instead agree with the questioner and further slandering the Catholic religion.
I agree with you. The more I see of the evangelicals, the less respect I have for their religion. I could never join them in their hate- filled ignorance.
Edit- Juan, it is called a rosary, not Mardi Gras beads and child molesters have been found in the clergy of every main religion. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt. It's nice to see that your prejudice includes Jews and blacks too. How very "Christian" of you.

I am an Episcipalian, so don't think that I am defending Catholics just because I am one, I'm not. But their faith has a direct line from pope to apostle to Jesus. Yes, there are a few issues I have with their beliefs, but most people are wrongfully prejudiced. No, they don't worship statues, they are using them as VISUAL AIDS, just like when we look at pictures of loved ones. Neither are statues "graven images". No, they don't worship Mary, they venerate her. The same with Saints.
But yes, Martin Luther had VERY good points. Yes, certain practices crept into the religion but remember faith is inspired by God, religion is an institution of man. Yes, the Inquisition was wrong, but they Church has taken responsibility for it. Pope JP2 made peace with Jews, us Episcopals and the Eastern Orthodox churches.
Look to the good. How many lives and souls they have saved? Look to their stance to combat slavery, war, drugs and to do social justice. I get grants from Catholic social services even though I'm not Catholic and I do not do religious work. They fund MANY other charities. In my town, they feed the poor 365 days a year as well as do food box distribution and utility payments. They have free legal clinics. My church often does projects with them and we volunteer often at their "soup kitchen".
I have worked side by side with Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Buddhist, as well as many mainstream Protestants. I came to a realization once while building houses with Habitat for Humanity. Just as it takes, electritians, plumbers, framers, to build a physical house, it takes Lutherans, Episcapalians, Methodists, Presbreterians and Catholics to build God's house. Remember, "My father has a house with many rooms". I am also reminded of a vision of Heaven and Hell. In Hell, there is a gourmet feast placed in front of souls that have 10 foot long utensils. They smell the aroma and crave with endless hunger but can't feed themselves. In Heaven there is the same sumptous feast, and the same 10 foot long utensils, but the true Christians are feeding each other. Kindness and Love is our commandment, not to tear others down.
Perhaps instead of putting down other Christian faiths, we should be working WITH our Christian bretheran instead of against them. "This they shall know ye by, that ye love one another". And I think we have a very stong and powerful enemy that loves it when we to tear down other Christians. Lucifer laughs when Christians tear each other down.

I think we all scoff at all religions. there will be only 1 religion when we are taken to heaven I believe that it is more of just worshiping God when we are with him.,no one will care which religion is better or worse when we are before God.it just won't be an issue.
I believe that all mankind has their own relationship with God and each and everyone will stand before God in judgement.
I have seen pastors that stopped people from coming to God as well as people in the church with the things they say and their actions,I don't go to church but I love God and I beleive in him and I pray to him...I feel that God looks into your heart and knows who you are.

could it have anything to do with child molestation? or rubbing marti gra beads to forgive sins? or what about confessing your sins to a child molester , hiding in a box? think any of this could be part of the problem with your so called religion?

Catholics are an easy target because there is so much to criticize; the Church's history is anything but flawless. In fact, until the 20th century, the Church was the largest perpetrator of genocide in history, with something on the order of 250,000 people having been murdered in crusades, inquisitions, auto-da-fe, and other atrocities. The Pope's latest pronouncements are not helpful.
