Not My view. For Example, I have Studied Electronics & Communications which are not even mentioned in Scripture. Does it Contradict Scripture by not even being mentioned??? No, Not at All!!! However the Use of Electronics has been Perverted to Promote Devious Sexual Behavior & More, which goes against Scripture. Will I continue to use Electronics??? Most Certainly!!! My "Stance" is that Because Mankind IS EVIL, we will Always Pervert Anything we want Because of our "Free Will" capability to do so!!! John

Dear Shawn B,
I guess it depends on what you are doing with that knowledge. What the Bible does teach is what God wants from his people- and how to have a lovign relationship with God.
There are plenty of areas on knowledge outside of the Bible that are wonderful. There are things in science, history, arachaeology, art, that are useful and in fact attest to God.
There are lots of areas of knowledge that we gain that can be useful (how to build a model airplane, fix a tv, it just has to do with how we apply it)
There are even many non-biblical sources that help validate the Bible- such as Historians like Josephus and Tacitus, etc.
So knowledge is helpful--- but Scriputre is the standard by which a believer should conduct his/her life to be pleasing to the Lord.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

Should church traditions be accepted as equally authoritative as Scripture? Or, should church traditions be followed only if they are in full agreement with Scripture? The answer to these questions play a large role in determining what you believe and how you live as a Christian. It is our contention that Scripture alone is the only authoritative and infallible source for Christian doctrine and practice. Traditions are only valid if they are built on the firm foundation of Scripture, and in full agreement with the entirety of Scripture.

All knowledge we have is either of God, of satan or of ourselves. (Everyone has all three) The key is figuring out which is which. Scripture is the word of God, so God will never speak anything that contradicts it. So if you have any thought that does contradict scripture, it is not from God. It is either from satan or yourself or both, but not God.

No as a matter of fact there are several references to other books the bible says to read if you want more details on certain events. Of course you would have to actually read the bible to know that.

The Bible says 'test all things.."
So test what you hear from others, what you read as 'scripture help', what you hear from the pulpit in church..
test it ALL against the Word of God.

There is a huge problem with that. Passages in the bible contradict other passages in the bible so how can christians be trusted to recognize contradictions when they refuse to see them as such?

No, I learned about evolution in high school. I just treat it as what it is- a theory.
