*Metaphorically speaking...

I'm talking about those type of messages that only give you the warm/loving side of God...without also informing (in a loving manner ofcourse) the consequences of our sin.

Before anyone says it...Let me just say: I believe in bringing forth the (FULL) gospel message in a gentle and loving manner...not forcing people. However, I don't agree with sugar coating it so much that it ends up rotting your teeth (another metaphor) or in other words neglecting to educate unbelievers on the other side of it.

You know...the whole "preach Heaven, but don't dear mention Hell" mentality.

(I'm just wondering if I am the only Christian who believes both sides need to be brought forth.)

For instance, I'm afraid of mirrors in the dark. Unless I cover the mirror in my room, I can't sleep.

What are yours?

Do the gifts of telepathy, precognitive ability, healing abilities, and any other "psychic gifts" -- do these have a moral imperative?-- By that I mean, are they a direct result of a connection to God or are they the natural abilities of the brain that some people have the ability to utilize? -- Everyone welcome to answer, regardless of your beliefs or religion!

For people who think that hell is not real, why when death is knocking on the door, they believe not only there is a GOD of wrath but also lake of unquenchable fire?

Well, I will answer my own question and tell you... Besides asking nutty (ok, branny!) questions and completely baffling other categories here, I love the UNITY we all share. For a few minutes we out aside our differences and do something together, collectively and as a community. That is a beautiful thing to see. For that little while we forget that we are Muslim, Christian or atheist, etc... and enjoy something together. Thanks for that, for seeing me for who I am and not for my religion, even if for a short time. Blessed be.

Oh- to make this a REAL question, what do you like most about raids?

Jesus demonstrated how wrong the Laws of Moses were-eg--an "eye for an eye" was wrong,"giving your enemy no peace" was wrong, stoning an adulteress to death was wrong etc--so why do Christians associate their God with the monster of a deity that the Jews created???

... have we never had a female president? Pakistan - Pakistan, for Pete's sake - has had a female prime minister! In fact, she was prime minister twice! Why is it that the first viable female candidate for the presidency is being vigorously smeared and adamantly opposed by the religious right?

All religions are not the same.

Some religions are scarcely even believed anymore (Christianty) while others deeply believed by the entirety of its followers (Islam). Some religions simply emphasize mediation and awareness (Buddhism) whiles others believe in a hands on violent spread of their doctrines (Islam).

Many ignorant people claim that we cannot judge "Islam" by the actions of Islamists. This claim might be the most insane of all human history.

Not only should we judge a religion by the actions of its followers, we should use this as the primary means of judging it.

All truth is revealed by action. In other words, if your wife says she loves you, but cheats on you all the time and puts slow poison in your food, the truth is not what she writes on hallmark cards, but its in what she does.

Of course in Islam, you have both. You have a history of genocide. Almost all armed conflict today is Islamic and the Quran explicitly gives warrant to all this horror.

Did you know that the Quran says that Allah/God counts the tears of a wife when her husband is mistreating her, and that Allah/God hears her complaints against her husband? Did you know that for every so called muslim man that oppresses his wife, violates her rights, rapes her, forces her into unwanted marriages, and only sees her as property, he will be given a bad deed and on Judgment Day any good he may have done will be transferred to him while any bad she did in response to his mistreatment will be transferred to him? In other words, the men you see abusing their wives are destined for hell because they ignore Islam, which says men may not harm women and that you are to give your wife equal to or better than what you give to yourself.

What do you think of this fact?

even those who believe in God or Gods ...do you believe in ghost? Do you believe maybe not everyone makes it to the "other side". Can a person who hasn't solved something still be floating around. Do you believe there are angels protecting certain people. What does the bible say all about this?

Perverted priests make me sick! Cardinal Mahoney officiated at my grandson's confirmation. When I met him, I thought the Cardinal had a holy glow around him. Now, I think I mistook a glow for a smokescreen instead. I've stopped contributing to my church now that I know where the money goes! Any other disenchanted Catholics out there?

Today we went to the Creation Museum
My wife, daughters and I
To learn the truth the Bible way
Without evolutionist lies

We were so excited and full of joy
To see the sacrifices,
The infants, women, lambs and goats
The dinosaurs and mices!

We goose-stepped through there one by one
Had lunch at Noah's Cafe
Saw Adam and Eve's Tree of Sin
And bought some Jesus taffy!

A door adorned with gaping skull
The scenes were copacetic!
A room of pictorial genocides
God's punishment for heretics

We saw the Holocaust videos
Projected on the walls
How we wish our fellow Jews
Had heeded the Good Lord's call

The sign read "Those rejecting the Word
Will suffer the Lord God's wrath"
And torment shall rain down upon
The wanderers from His path.

We saw the Planetarium,
The skies and moons and - dammit!
We missed the exhibition of
Our 4,000 year-old planet.

Today we went to the Creation Museum,
My wife, daughters and I
And for those that don't believe
It's a shame you're going to fry.

Love & light
.

What do you think judging from this quote and site? And for those who are going to quote Surah 4, that is one of many mistranslations in the english Quran and in arabic, the word used "daraba" means to separate, as in leave the house.

"Since there are some in the Muslim community that believe it is halal to smack their wives around because the woman is the property of the man, an unislamic idea in the first place, I thought it would be good to send out this important reminder. I know many people would like to see this issue not talked about as it is airing our dirty laundry in public, but it must be talked about and dealt with as Allah commands us to stand up for justice even if it is against our ownselves. We in the Muslim community should not tolerate our sisters being abused in anyway and should actively take measures to insure that this abuse ceases."

I have had way too many seemingly coincidental experiences since I started meditating.

1)First of all, awareness

I have sometimes been somehow aware of a constant presence which is not my own, even when I am alone. Exploring the possibility of a Guardian Angel, but not too sure.

When I am in crowded, busy places, I sometimes experience bursts of emotion that I do not relate to. Actually in crowded places it happens many times, usually in a short time span. ie I might go through anger, happiness, sorrow, depression, love, joy and calm, all in the space of ten seconds or so, then just back to my normal self.

I have a friend online who lives over 4,000 miles away. I once managed to focus in on my friend's emotion, then told her exactly what pain she was feeling. She confirmed moments later that I was right.

2) Premonitions
It's becoming a common theme from time to time that I have been subconsciously knowing what comes next. About a week ago, I was discussing money with a friend

Every religion believes they practices the will of god. As humans how do we know which one of the scriptures are the correct. I don't understand how people believe that reading the text of printed words as god has spoken to them.

I've heard there are people calling themselves Christians who do not believe in hell. They apparently pick which parts of the bible they believe and disregard anything they don't like. Do you believe everything you read in God's Word, or do you pick-and-choose to please yourself?
