I'm writing a philosophy paper about theism/atheism. I was wondering if some atheists would answer a few questions. What is at our core/essence of being, or do we have a core (aka avocado vs. artichoke)? (For instance, Plato thought reason was at our core, theists say that we are made in the image of God at our core, etc.) Why are we here? What is our purpose in living? How do we determine what is right and wrong? Thanks!

What criteria will you use to "Rightly divide" what he says? According to Christian Mythology, Satan knows the bible better than anyone, and is very smart, he could fool you easily, right?

I dare you to describe something you've seen that ABSOLUTLEY could only have happened at the hands of an all powerful god-being. As in it is not remotly possible it could have happened naturally.

And keep in mind that improbable does not equal impossible.

I am a spiritual person. I have talked to alot of christians trying to convert me. I will never believe the bible. It has contradictions with in itself. And yes they may be small contradictions but if it were holy shouldn't it be contradiction free? And please don't say there are no condtradictions. There are and I don't have time or effort to list here. Ask people will point them out. Secondly there is rampant bigotry. Kepping slaves, women being inferior, killing people of other religions, etc. So I leave it up to all the christians out there to convince me and everyone else your god is the right god. Without using the bible. Also please don't just use jesus loves me, it's not very convining. I truly am willing to hear this and keep an open mind and heart.

doing it with my god is better since she doesnt make up new absurd theories just to validate their believe.
I noticed that when you ask something to a christian and he/she feels cornered and doesnt find a logical (or pseudo logical) explanation, they just make up something absurd to validate whatever they may believe...At those occasion one feel like giving them a cookie and throwing them a stick and tell them "go for it".

Since scripture makes it clear that this is the one sin that is unforgivable and would keep us out of Heaven don't you think it would be a good idea if we were sure what it is.

Check back here when I close this question out and I will give you my take on it.

I see all these "proofs" of how the law applied only to the Israelites. Cool, but I still at least try to live by the Israelite law (I am black, not Hebrew btw...lol). I can't help the "more-than-one-cloth" thing. I DO help the pork thing. I don't have tattoos but fiance has 13. Tattoos are not my brethren and I DO hate them,,,though they can look nice...lol. Out of all of this stuff, I STILL DON'T HAVE PROOF THAT GOD SAYS IT'S OK FOR US TO GET TATTOOS!

-btw, I work cause God told me to, I typed this cause God told me to, I drink because the bible justifies it (John) through the Gospel of eating and drinking. Everything I do is through God's permission...what now?

...if God wanted the couple to have children then they would have them w/o IVF etc. but they don't think there is anything wrong with getting cancer treatment --isn't that odd because if they followed the thought process they had about reproducing they would think you shouldn't get treatment for cancer either; if God wanted you to heal from Cancer He would heal you without treatment. What do you think?

Is care the worst thing a human can do. Our cares are what causes us pain, if you don't care you don't care end of story. But if you do care then life will be your hell in one form or another..

First thing first, i will most likely get flooded by atheists here (pun intended), i have nothing against you but i have a serious question to christian and islams since we are believe the arc. I have seen inrefudable evidence of the existence of the ark and the flood. But it seems that christianity (i am a christian, and islamic as well because i believe these religions are both of the same idea, yet understood differently.) So as i was saying Christianity said that only noah and his family boarded thearc. Now it also says that we are all descendants of noah's family. Yet he had three boys. So that means they repopulated the earth with their mother. But that is against the bible to have "sex" activity with your blood family.
However in the Quran There were 78 humans on board. Noah, 7 of his family, and 70 other people. Now that would be a more realistic view of how the earth could be repopulated.
So how could noahs family repopulate the earth, since famil "sex" is wrong in thebible?

Was he getting a makeover? I'm guessing it would've have been improper etiquette to show up on Easter Sunday with sticks, leaves, and dried blood in your hair.
