Here is the point. Answered prayer most often depends on if you are or are not praying in or for God's will. Most unanswered prayer is selfish in nature.....James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Also are you serving God? If not , don't expect your prqyers to be answered .But contrary ,if you are serving God then.... James 5;16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. I have had many many answered prayers.

the fact that it is unanswered is still an answer, even though we might think we know whats best we don't.sometimes we ask for things God knows will end up putting us in a bad place. so the lack of an answer is God saying thats not good for your life. as far as ball games well yeah I don't think God really takes time on those prayers.

I don't think as a true follower of Christ or a believer in God that we as disciples should pray for something as trivial as a baseball game or whatever. Prayer is an opportunity for us to talk to God by asking for strength, wisdom, perseverance etc in our lives. It is also an opportunity for us to ask God to forgive us of our shortcomings (sins). To answer your question, prayer has a point and it does help, but God will not always answer our prayers in a way that we may see fit, but he does hear them. God will provide us with the things that we need and he has also given us a plan (the Bible) that we can use to attain salvation if we do His will according the New Testament scripture. If you ever have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I would urge to look to the Bible for answers and seek out a reliable person as a source to help you with other questions you may have. I am a young christian myself and I know that I don't and never will have all of the answers, but I can try to discover those things that God would have me to do in order to be pleasing in His sight. Take care.
Sincerely,

Thats a stupid prayer. There is no point to it.
You dont pray just to ask God to do you a favor. You also pray to thank him for each day and just to talk. You can pray for other people as well. I like to pray at night because it puts me in a state of calmness and security. I notice that I fall asleep a lot faster when I pray than when I dont.

We all pray for something to happen for us that is good...always good. God answers our prayers though it may not be the answer we want and also the answer comes when God thinks it is time for it. That is how I was told prayer works.

No sir. Both prayers were answered. One's prayer was answered 'yes' the other 'no'.
Prayers are not always answered the way we'd like. That doesn't mean they aren't answered.
Prayers are answered according to God's will, not ours. Our wills are usually selfish, so God gives us what we NEED not WANT. Sometimes He gives us what we want and boy! do we learn to be careful what we ask for.

Prayers never go unanswered.
God answers evey prayer with one of three answers...
Yes, No, or Wait.
Both fans at the game get their prayers answered,
One man gets yes,
the other gets no,
it's very simple.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this Happen?" (regarding Katrina). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"
In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.
Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school (the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself) and we said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.
Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.
Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and
workplace.
Wonder why prayers go unanswered - Because we really don't trust God to do anything for us on a daily basis so we pray and we really don't believe he's going to answer. So in reality you get what you believed for.

If prayer in your opinion is useless, then answering this question is useless also.
If there was a chance that prayer was valid then I would try to answer your question.
The important point is that they both have Faith!
