First thing first, i will most likely get flooded by atheists here (pun intended), i have nothing against you but i have a serious question to christian and islams since we are believe the arc. I have seen inrefudable evidence of the existence of the ark and the flood. But it seems that christianity (i am a christian, and islamic as well because i believe these religions are both of the same idea, yet understood differently.) So as i was saying Christianity said that only noah and his family boarded thearc. Now it also says that we are all descendants of noah's family. Yet he had three boys. So that means they repopulated the earth with their mother. But that is against the bible to have "sex" activity with your blood family.
However in the Quran There were 78 humans on board. Noah, 7 of his family, and 70 other people. Now that would be a more realistic view of how the earth could be repopulated.
So how could noahs family repopulate the earth, since famil "sex" is wrong in thebible?

Thanks for all the answers i guess i have not been careful in reading that his son's wives were on board with him. And as i said i will be flooded with atheists as i was. And to being a christian and islam question, i understand about your speculation, however i am not fully both. I believe certain things of both religions. As i believe Jesus was the son of god, (they do not) and i believe in many things that came from the quran. I am not fully both, but parts of each.

yes those answers are correct. the number included his sons and their wives. also when God blessed or ordains an action, in this case procreation within a family, it becomes a totally different thing!

In the King James Version of the Bible it is clear that each son took his wife on the Ark, so Noah and wife, and the three sons took their wives.
Have you ever noticed that around 5,000 years ago three great civilizations arose? Egypt, China, India (Indus Valley). I believe after the Tower of Babel, folks sorted themselves out in clans and went their separate ways.
Noah had three sons--I believe the three clans came from the three sons of Noah. Nothing Biblical to base this on, but this theory ties in nicely with history. .
--You are correct that Muslims worship the same God; they worship the God of Abraham also. But they do not accept Christ as the Savior of the world, so I don't understand how you could be a Christian and a Muslim since they are different belief systems.

The sons of Noe took also their wives . .. I'd like to see irrefutable evidence of the flood. Because to date there is none i am aware of. It is more likely, and my personal belief, that this story is an Early Apocolypse. The flood which is described is reversed in the second half of genesis as coming from Abraham. That is from many people we come to one person in Noah, and his family. And from Abraham we come from one to many people in a great flood of people. This flood is today the sea of people's nations and tongues.
There wasn't then any incest here, nor in the Early Bible as this implied incest is probably explained by the fact that the "Sons of GOD took wives from the daughters of men" . . .
We should view the first 11 chapters of Genesis as a mirror of the Gospel and Revelation with the story of Noah being a sort of Apocolypse telling us what GOD was planning to do from this point on . . . GOD fulfills then in Abraham . .. The stories of the Jews after this prepare the way for the MESSIAH who will eventually become the ONE with HIS FAMILY saved from the flood . .. There's also much meaning in the animals then also being on board the ark which is the CHURCH.
LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.
:Edit: incest is prohibited by the natural law which was orginally written on the heart. Because of our fallen nature people have broken this law. More than this it has been a taboo in nearly every culture since the birth of man. But the breakdown of taboos has happened at times, as in Sodom and Gahmorra . .. We see at these times people are capable of wicked debaucheries and violence.

I believe the only evidence toward world wide flood is the fact that all cultures have a story of a flood...now that may be true, but there's also evidence that during the Neolithic Period, when prehistoric man was camped near or around the Dead Sea, the Mediterranean Sea flooded the Dead Sea and drowned the whole area, creating the Sea we're familiar with today (there IS proof of this) and the survivors told the story and it just spread as the people spread out across the world...

Having sex within the nuclear family was not abolished until the law was given to Israel through Moses.
Also, ark is the correct spelling, arc is part of the french surname d'arc or darc.

the egyptians didn't seem to notice that they've all be drowned....
the "flood" didn't happen and I don't understand why someone would want to worship a being that SLAUGHTERED millions if not billions of creatures because he was bit irked at a very very small percentage
