The fish was more than likely born in an aquarium in the first place.
Would you like to go around to all the pet shops and homes around the world and free all the little fishys? That's sweet, but not very practical. You'd have to be sure to put all the different fish into the exact environment they would normally live in, so that would be a lot of trouble and expense.

When God made the animals, including fish, he place them at man's dominance. This should not be interpreted as we can be mean to them or any creature.
St Thomas Aquinas said that if you treat an animal wrongly (fish too) it makes the human person less human.
But we can put fish in aquiriums without sin. Especially if we are responsible and try out best to take care of them.
Maybe by taking care of the fish you can learn more about creation, or God himself.

Depends on the type of fish, and whether or not you use KY when you rear it.
For example, rearing a salmon is just wrong; while rearing a Great White Shark is borderline suicidal (but I bet a lot of people would pay good money to watch).
We need more details on this one (and photos, if you dare).

Ok but seriously, the way we treat animals does matter. You are wonderful to notice that humans are not the only creatures with feelings and rights. I hate putting little fish in a fish bowl. I always put them in my pond in the backyard. One day I noticed a hawk come by and grab one. I wonder which place was worse. The fishbowl or the pond.

Um...I hope when you mean rear mean take care of....raise it like how you rear a child....if not then you're one f*cked up individual...and if you do mean that, then the other people here are f*cked up...and I dunno, just like if you go fishing and you catch a fish and put it in a fish tank back home...is that considered kidnapping and a sin? Who knows...

You do not commit a sin by treating animals badly. In this case you are not even treating the fish badly. You sin a against God by treating other PEOPLE badly or by breaking God's commandments.

1) Fish do not have common sense, or free will.
2) You have to be retarted to rear a fish.
3) Its just disgusting, sin or not, its morally wrong and thats just very stupid bestiality.
