I'm being serious here. Since I've been in this section, I've seen Christians arguing about which Bible version is the purest and the "best." Does it really matter? Can God not reach a person no matter WHICH version they're reading, even if it's The Message?
And arguing about which denomination is "right." What's up with THAT? Don't we all belong to one church? Does it really matter whether we're Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, or WHATEVER? I don't recall Jesus saying that one has to be Methodist to get to the Father.
And THEN there's the whole "if a person doesn't believe in the literal creation account, they're not a Christian." Give me a BREAK!
So seriously, why do we argue about semantics?
And it's not just HERE either. It's everywhere. WHY?

why do so many christians react to things like the Ted Haggard scandal as if it says nothing about faith and say that, if anything, it emboldens and strengthens their faith?

it really says something when so many of the top people in evangelical, organized religion are entrenched in
drug scandals,
sex scandals (homosexual or or otherwise),
blatant tax fraud
and investment fraud.

doesn't the irony of it all almost makes you think that god was trying to give us a subtle message that he thinks that we should not get so caught up in "organized, politicized religion" and mindlessly worshiping dogma and focus more on loving our fellow man?

...that Jews have been so persecuted for their own faith, that they don't even like to claim their faith completely?

You ask someone if they are a Jew, and they'll reply...

"I'm Jew-ish"

Humanity is God to the canine species...canines have a real God they do worship and love unconditionally. Granted, a currently limited God, but neverthless, a real God that mostly provides for their needs, unlike the fictisious God man has created.

So from a spirtual point of view, Dogs are the most spirtual beings on earth because they are the only beings with a real God they acknoweldge and have a real relationship with, in fact, they are smarter than many humans in this respect. Also dogs worship humans, not based on faith, but based on real basis for acknowledging the superiority of man.

I guess only atheists, agnostics and dogs are smart enough to see mans potential for God status....dim-witted religionists still curse man and demonize him.

Does it mean that you can never disagree with their practices?

Does it mean that you can never ask questions about that which you find inconsistent or objectionable in their scriptures or doctrines?

Does it mean that you can never oppose attempts to legally impose their behavioral standards or "divine mandates" on you?

Does it mean you must always allow them to do whatever they want if it's in accordance with their particular faith?

Please, comment on what you read on this website. I'm talking about everyone, that would include catholics, muslims, hindus, buddist, druids, wiccans, etc. I don't care who you are take a look. I just want to see if there is something similar in each religion. I'm really not searching for opinions just facts in your own religion. I also feel if you're honest this be something very interesting to everyone. website: http://www.barr-family.com/godsword/queen.htm

Seriously curious on the official JW teaching for these...

1) Why were stones picked up to throw at Jesus after he talked about His pre-existance? John 8:58-59

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I AM!" At this, they picked up stones to stone him...."

2) Why did Thomas call Jesus my Lord and my God and then get praised for believing? John 20:28,29

Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

If the pope sees the light, and has a true conversion are you willing to forgive him his condemnation of all Protestants? What about the people that have been led astray for centuries? This pope can not repent for the ones before him, but how infallible are these guys when he can go back to Vatican II and say the popes were too liberal in their translation? The big claim to being the "Only Real Church" is from from one misinterpreted quote to Peter. Peter did not were funny hats, have people kissing his ring and take a vow of poverty, then live in decadent wealth with servants to wait upon his every whim. I know plenty of born again Catholics that will be in Heaven, but they don't really pay that much attention to the pope and when they have a serious question or want to know where something is in the bible, they call a Protestant. May God forgive the leaders of this House of Lies.

I believe out of their own greed many years ago, when they banned priests from marriage so the church would inherit all the priests' estates instead of thier wives, any other ideas???
...... and this is not a violational question, there is a huge case against the church for many many priests that have violated children and the church has tried to cover it up!

My father is somewhere close to Baptist, and my mom is between Nazarene and Methodist, and both of them think that Catholics are alcoholic, child-molesting idol worshipers. The problem is that I want to become Catholic... because I just feel at home there. I don't know how to tell them... They will think it is just that my boyfriend (who is Catholic) is brainwashing me. How can I phrase it so that they won't freak?

Sometimes people say that they are not religious but they believe in prayer and God. This confuses me because when they say they only believe in prayer and God does this mean they are a very liberal Christian or what? Or when someone says they are not religious but they say they pray...then who are they praying to? Does it mean they are athiests or they're just liberal?
