Jesus was not an only child, He was the only son between Mary and God....Mary and Joseph had other children aka His brother James who did not believe until saw Jesus after He rose again...so theoretically there will be people that descended from the same human lines of Jesus (the house of David) but there would not be any direct descendants from Christ himself if you believe that Jesus was not married..which there is really no proof that he was and most of us Christians believe Jesus did not marry...but he had earthly brothers and sisters..they were half siblings by today's standards same mom way different dad...

He wasn't. He had a number of brothers and sisters according to the records of the time.

Which is why the ossary, that said James brother of Jesus (although spelt in the language of the time) was taken so seriously (until they determined it was a fake).

As for living descendants of Christ, Jesus was supposed to be a Rabi. Most Rabi's marry and have children. According to some of the gnostic scrolls, Mary was actually his wife and they had children. Of course, most Christians don't believe the Gnostic scrolls are real. Even though it was a Barbarian Emperor who personally decided what books made up the New Testament to stop all the Christians in his empire from killing each other over which religious texts to use in their worship.

So if the Gnostic scrolls are correct, he did leave descendants. But if they are not, then perhaps he didn't. After all there are some 30 odd years where no one knew what he was doing, other than carpentry and being a Rabi.

1. The Bible mentions Jesus' brothers and sisters including James and Jude.

2. There are of course people living today who are descended from Jesus' family members but unless they lived in the same village, never moved, and never intermarried outside of their village their genes are so scattered that it would be impossible to find out who they are. Due to the destruction of the Temple and the Jewish Diaspora and the many wars, natural disasters that have happened in the 2000 plus years since Jesus lived his distant relatives are scattered throughout the world.

3. People descended from Joseph and Mary's other children are not direct descendants of Christ but very distantly related cousins of his as far removed from Jesus as I am Montezuma.

4. The women who visited his grave after the crucifixion to anoint his body were likely his relatives. Jewish law stated that this particular ritual could only be carried out by female relatives as touching a dead body rendered a male ritually unclean. It was likely that they were his mother, aunts, sisters, and female cousins.

I thought Jesus had 4 brothers, at least two that were older then him? I can't remember. How many sisters he had wouldn't even be mentioned in the Bible as in the Bible daughters are less important then men.

the Bible makes it clear that Jesus wasn't the only child. He had brothers and sisters. Well given that Jesus is God in flesh, He did not have the same bloodline as his parents, brothers, or sisters. Also, there is no evidence from the new testament writers or jewish authors in that time period that Jesus had kids.

If Mary's labor was anything like mine, then I think its a good possibility that he was an only child.
Seriously though, I do believe he had other siblings.

Jesus was begotten of God, not his supposed father Joseph.
