Many people seem to believe in God, but do they all know why? Maybe its because of their environments growing up? Maybe its because the fact of there being NO GOD friegthens them or makes them feel like bad people? Is it ignorance...I wonna know!

In 1 Corintians 3 in the Bible, Paul speaks to his fellow Christians lecturing them and criticizing their behavior. Most of the passage deals with the duties of Christians. Yet, in verses 16-17, Paul states:

" Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
--1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Most people associate that verse with the abuse of substances, such as alcohol and drugs. I interpret this verse to mean, You should avoid anything that can destroy your body, as your body is sacred and holy.

So, I began to ponder. Everyday many of us consume unhealthy food. Many people OVER-consume unhealthy food. This unfortunate reality leads to high cholesterol, heart problems, and obesity, among others. Now, America is criticized even on this site, as being fat and lazy. Though i disagree, I am aware that obesity is increasing among our country. There are many reasons behind this, but that is not the point of this post.

It came to my attention, that the Bible also criticizes gluttony, or excessive eating and drinking. The Bible condems gluttony in the following passages:

"Be not among winebobbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags."
-- Proverbs 23:20-21

"Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things."
--Phillipians 3:17

Thus, do you think that Obesity could be condsidered a sin?

Something preexisted G-d. That doesn't necessarily mean there is no G-d, right? I think this would be a very poor argument against the existence of G-d, that being the simple fact that G-d came and made order out of Chaos. Does anyone else, like me, understand the Hebrew concept of creation, where in the beginning the world was chaos and G-d came and made order of the chaos?

I mean, it's not that great of an argument, and easy to refute. So why is it used so often?

Are there gaps pertaining to religiously bias materials in our TV and printed media standards that ought to be evaluated and perhaps even acted upon as new inclusions to our existing child protection laws?

Your thoughts please.

Ezekiel18:20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

From the TIMES OF INDIA:

CHRISTIAN ACTIVISTS DISRUPT HINDU PRAYER IN US SENATE

WASHINGTON: Christian activists briefly disrupted a Hindu invocation in the U.S Senate on Thursday, marring a historic first for the chamber and showing that fundamentalism is present and shouting in the U.S., too.

Invited by the Senate to offer Hindu prayers in place of the usual Christian invocation, Rajan Zed, a Hindu priest from Reno, Nevada, had just stepped up to the podium for the landmark occasion when three protesters, said to belong to the Christian Right anti-abortion group Operation Save America, interrupted him by loudly asking for God's forgiveness for allowing the ''false prayer'' of a Hindu in the Senate chamber.

"Lord Jesus, forgive us father for allowing a prayer of the wicked, which is an abomination in your sight," the first protester shouted. "This is an abomination. We shall have no other gods before You."

If God does exist of course, he must be eternal, active, and necessary.

I then assume, and shall also show, that if He is eternal, active and necessary, He must be eternally active and eternally necessary. Consequently, He could not have been at any moment inactive or unnecessary. This shows, finally, that He was never created. Here is my proof.

To say that God is not eternally active is to admit that He has not always been active, that He became so, that He began to be active, that before being so He was not. Since his activity was manifested through His act of creation, it is the same as admitting that during the billions of years possibly preceding creation God was inactive.

To say that God is not eternally necessary is to admit that He has not been always necessary, that He became so, that He began to be so, that before being necessary He was not so. Since the Creation proclaims and testifies to the necessity of God, we must also admit that during the billions of years possibly preceding the creation God was useless.

God was useless!

God idle and lazy!

God superfluous and useless!

What a bad situation for the Being essentially active and essentially necessary! We must admit, then, that all times God has been active and necessary. But then, he could not have created because the idea of creation absolutely implies the idea of a beginning. Something that begins could not have existed all the time. There necessarily must have been a time when before coming into being the thing was not at all. No matter how long or short the time preceding the created thing may be, it cannot be ignored

Thus the results are:

Either God is not eternally active and eternally necessary, and in this case He became so with Creation. If it is so, God, before Creation, did not possess the two attributes of activity and necessity. Such a God was incomplete; it was a fragment of God nothing more. And to become active and necessary, to complete Himself, he needed to create.

Or God is eternally active and eternally necessary, and in this case He has been creation eternally; the creation has always been going on. The Universe has never begun; it existed all the time; it is eternal like God; it is God Himself, and He is lost in it.
If it is so, the universe never had any beginning; it has not been created.

Therefore, in the first case, God, before Creation, was neither active nor necessary; He was incomplete, that is, imperfect-- and, then He does not exist. In the second case, God, being eternally active and eternally necessary, has not become so and, therefore He has not created.
It is impossible to conclude otherwise.

There is lots more where that came from if you want more let me know. Please, try to argue.

Have you read any part of the qu'rran or have you ACTUALLY talked to a muslim and asked him or her about their faith? Have you listened with open ears. Those who spout hatred and say they are terroists must remember this ( from the bible) when piously kneeling to pray .... What ever ye shall do to the least of your fellow man so shall ye do to me. I am not saying that Muslims are the Least but remember, if you didn't know what religion they were would you still be as cruel? And do you truly know how WELL women are actually taken care of according to Shariah law? If I was a muslim ( which I am not) and I divorced my husband, he would have to keep me in the same lifestyle I was accustomed to during the marriage regardless if it meant putting him in the poorhouse as divorce is frowned upon ( kinda like in Cathechism?) also Multiple marriages are only up to two ( muslims correct me if I am wrong) and that is only if you can give everything exactly equal to each wife so why hate?????

Religious people are easily controlled by loyalty which they think is divinely ordained.

Even if the False Messiah, who will rule from Israel, commits a genocide equal to Pol Pot or Hitler....... the indoctrinated will think he is doing Gods will and will not say a single word for justice and truth.

The best way to find out who are on the side of Evil and who are on the side of Good is to know who will be supporting the False Messiah and who will be fighting against him.

Why are you so scared of the afterlife, that you would go to such a place as hell if you don't follow a black book.

Seems silly to me. Life is about trying to make the most of it. Its not about waiting for the after life and trying to score points with a made up thing called God.
