Part of figuring out the 'meaning of life' is knowing when measuring yourself against an infintite standard becomes a waste of time and energy. Then it's time to reflect, that in the grand scheme of things, that's not a good way to measure growth.
Plenty of people are obsessed with perfection, and unfortunately mormon doctrine is a petrie dish for those types of personalities - they are the ones who equate righeuousness with prosperity, they are more righteous than you, and are pretty much a bad example of any religious belief.
I've been exposed to the lds culture all my life, my wife has seen things from a catholic perspective: 'Perfection' brings out the worst in people.

your so silly, the people in my ward believed they were already perfect or demi-gods or Goddesses. Even if the stress was killing them, they still thought they has super human powers. I was abused, but still believed in this God doctrine, I almost felt liek Jesus on a cross, payign for the sins of whatever was bothering my parents...literally.
I use to thinl I could read peoples emotions by looking into their eyes, LOL what a crock of crap. I was so blinded!!!

No, because none of us will ever be perfect. The only man to have walked this earth and achieved this was Christ. We are only asked to strive for perfection through the Savior's atonement. As long as I sincerely try my best to live His gospel that is all He or Heavenly Father expects of me.

God understands each one of us and loves us very much. He wants us to be happy. God's principles and laws require personal change, sacrifice, and obedience. Living those principles will make us happy. His commandments are in place to help us live happy lives. Kind of ironic. It's easy to get down on yourself when you do something that you or God wouldn't approve of. But God died for all of us, so that we could repent, because he loves each one of us so much. There is not a single person he doesn't love. Serious depression can be caused from various challenges and aspects of life. I hope that you know that God loves you and you have so much potential in his eyes.

No. Actually not.
I enjoy being a mormon.
And I know that nobody who has ever lived upon this earth, was/is not perfect except for Jesus Christ
