well I think everyone fears the afterlife all the same. When we established this country everyone loved the morals and things behind Christianity now that nobody actually wants to live that way anymore, Christianity, which has never changed its values or anything, is being attacked, as predicted. And since it is predicted, and it's happening, it is even more proof to believe... for me at least. People who attack Christianity are doing exactly what they accuse Christians of doing, pushing their beliefs on other people. When you say that they are living in fear, that is your opinion. They themselves have different reasons to believe. And some believe just because. Believing in Christ gives strength to continue through each day and to overcome, rather than to succumb to things that would normally overbear someone into depression then them wondering why their life is sucking. Those are the same people who turn around and question God. Nobody ever said Christians aren't trying to make the most of life, that is just a stereotype. Churches and the Bible are there to help someone gain insight and understand the reasons why things happen the way they do and the strength love and courage to continue each day and love another. Jesus spoke against organized religion in a way because a lot of people think that such a foundation limits someone's life by saying "dont do this or that" "don't wear this or that" "you have to act this way or that way" when in fact that's not what it's all about at all. That is what people are fooled into thinking Christianity is all about. .... Hello....No it's not. Why are people spending their time trying to disprove God? He must exist then..
don't say "cus im worried about why people are living in fear"
no you're really not.

I'm a Christian and I am definitely not scared of and afterlife because I already know where I'm going and it's not hell. If you look at the Bible as only a black book, I'm sorry. You obviously have not read it much.
I'm also not trying to score points with God because I'm already on His side, so why brown-nose?
How can God be made up? He created the world. Do you believe in the big bang theory? If you do, how can such beauty this earth holds be made from an explosion when explosions only destroy things and make them unrecognizable? I don't know of one explosion that can make anything beautiful other than fireworks, and that's only for an instant.
Christian aren't any more scared than you are, we just know what's coming up for us. That's it.

Who says Christians are fearful? My Bible tells me to "fear not" and I choose to listen! I don't want to die because I value the life God gave me and want to make the most of it, but I'm not at all afraid of the afterlife!
Sure, some Christians live a fearful life...but so do some non-Christians (in fact, I'd argue that I know more non-Christians who fear death...most the Christians I know are actually looking forward to the afterlife).

I agree that we are to make the most of this life. I spend every day loving and serving my family, being kind to people with whom I come in contact, having a great time with my kids, laughing a lot with my friends and doing my best to spread joy and light. I do not spend very much time at all talking about end times, or death. The bible says that the Kingdom of God is at hand. It's right here! Now! I should make the most of it! I also believe that we are all gifted to make an impact on THIS earth, in THIS life and to not do so would be irresponsible.

Your logic is flawed;
Why are you so scared of the afterlife, that you would go to such a place as hell if you don't follow a black book.
It's not because someone is scared that they go to hell if they don't follow a black book (BTW, I follow a blue one).
It's because someone doesn't follow "a book" that they go to hell - whether they're scared or not.
"Life is about trying to make the most of it..."
Trust me, if everyone "followed that black book", we would all be making the most of life.

People do as they can. I know Christians of all types. They are no different as a whole as any group of people. So why are you thinking that we are so fearful as a whole?
Don't you think that it's a bit silly to call a whole group the same?

I think your confused. Christians don't waste their lives trying to score points. Being a christian means you've already been saved and have your place in heaven. Its others that live in that fear. not christians.

Just because someone follows the "black book" doesn't mean it's because they're scared....Some people follow it because they choose to. I honestly don't know why though. They're all being brainwashed, but who am I to take them away from their happiness?
