Perhaps your coming home to the Church has inspired him to return.
I am sure things will be o.k.
Peace be with you.

Ok, let me see if I got this right. Your father was raised Catholic, no longer likes Catholics, you became Catholic and now he's watching EWTN? I don't think you have anything to worry about. He either likes the programs or he's trying to find out what drew you in the first place. You didn't mention any fights, so maybe he's just trying to see it from your side of things.

I suspect that because he loves you that he wants to find out more about Catholicism. I converted from being a Protestant to being a Catholic many years ago when I was 27 years old.
My younger brother is a pious Protestant and is very anti- Catholic. It helps that we both believe the Bible. I say that in case that will be a help with your realtionship with your parents.
I have never been able to get my brother to see my point of view but we still love and respect each other. I have watched EWTN for a long time and if the subject comes up I would encourage you to suggest he watch; The Journey Home, The Web of Faith, and reruns of Mother Angelica.
I suggest Mother Angelica's reruns because I don't know how anyone can hear her speak with such love for God, Jesus, The Bible and us, her family; and think that Catholic Christianity is a "false religion".
Your Dad may tell you that Catholic Christianity is a false religion because most Protestants believe that. The Web of Faith may be helpful for that because most, if not all Protestants have many missbeliefs about Catholicism.
For sure, it will be helpful to talk to your parents in a loving and respectful way when you talk about this. Like many situations that God puts us in, I suspect that this process of talking to your parents about this will turn out to have positive consequences if it pushes you to learn more about your new Faith and to have a closer relationship with God as you study His Word and ask Him for Guidance in talks with your parents.
Do you watch the Journey Home? If not, I encourage you to. I found that this program was very helpful in my own "journey home" to the Catholic Church. Welcome home!
May God bless you, guide you, and grant you an ever increasing awareness of His infinate love for you and your loved ones.

Maybe he is curious as to why you became Catholic and is trying to educate himself on Catholicism.
Nothing wrong with that.

I think he's trying to understand why you chose Catholicism. Why don't you join him in the watching? Or better yet, explain it to him so he doesn't have to watch television to guess the reason.
Good luck.
