He was the fulfillment of the Jewish Law and the Author of the Christian faith. He is more than just those things, because He is from the Old Testament "God our Savior, the Word of God, the Messiah" all rolled into one. I could add things like the kinsman redeemer and other things. But I covered the 'religion' part to answer your question.

Jesus was Jewish. See most people think he came to start a new religion. The truth is that he simply came to complete the Mosaic Law and fulfill the promises of the old testament (IF he were in fact the Messiah). It was never meant for him to build an entirely different belief, just a more "complete" way of worshiping the same God, with the same rewards and punishments.
As it said in the Gospels, the Rabbis of the time took the law of Mosses FAR too literally. To the point were you would be considered a sinner for simply moving a stone that blocked your way on Sabbath. Or over charging on the tithes for any number of ridicules reasons. Yet the more important Laws, like the veneration of the Temple or of God himself, were left more or less unattended, because there was really no immediate profit for the Priests and Rabbis themselves.

Jesus was a Jew. He observed the feasts and ceremonies. He himself fulfilled prophesies written in the Jewish Scriptures. Through Him Christians like wild fig branches are grafted into the fig tree that is Israel. In a very real sense Christians since the resurrection of Christ and Jews before the resurrection have the same religion. They all make up the elect.

Jesus was a Jew-so that means he followed Judaism. He came in fulfillment of all the prophecies of the prophets of Israel, and He supported their Law by giving it a new meaning.
everyone followed the Law , but it was a drag...they were shackled by it.
Jesus however told them all, that if u followed the Law in love, where the love of God came first and then the rights of other ppl came before ur own luxury...the Jewish Law would be ur Triumph!

he was born Jewish but converted to christianity because he was the son of God. (suposedly)
There are historical facts that a man named Jesus did walk the earth (not just the bible) and preach a different religion and was crucified. BUT there were many men that tried to persuade the masses, in todays terms they are called sales men, Jesus just happened to be beliveable!

Jesus was Jewish, and those that followed his teachings after his death and believe him to be the messiah would be Christians. Judaism does not believe that Jesus was the messiah and are still waiting for the messiah. They view him as like a teacher or a rabbi.

Being that Jesus transformed after his dying, loss of life as a Jew and resurrecting as a Christian, I understand a few Christian men who after their dying are going to move for the seventy two virgins, alternatively of gambling a Harp.

Jesus was a practicing Jew but not following the man-made legislations put forward by the Rabbis and Pharasees of his time. He rejected the hypocrisy and immorality of the Synagogue "elders" because they practiced not what they preached. He was not a Christian because the word Christian was coined 30 years after his death. But he was a believer in One God, the God of Moses, David and Adam. He did not eat pork, did not partake blood and he was circumcised. He submitted himself to the will of God as shown in the prayer he taught his followers; THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. Thus he folowed the religion of submission to God's will and he was a submitter to God's will. Thus he had ISLAM (submission to God' will) and he was a MUSLIM (one who submitted to God's will). All the prophets are muslims in the general sense of the word and even animals and plants are.We are all muslims should we choose to follow God's will, be you are christian, buddhist, jew, hindu or whatever. You are muslim in your heart and ISLAM is your birthright....

,He was born Jewish and did practice the holy days of the Jewish religion, but I don't think he was religious, or he would not have taught us to be aware of false Prophets and pharisees.
He was the Light of the world,or you could say,the en-lightener of the world.
peace and love
