Just been reading the comments here & Goddess what a pleasant surprise!! (Ignoring the trolls) the positive positions of the majority of the answers is why I hang around this area.
Ariel, I understand your position. Having had Fundies actually stalking my house eery weekend for 7 years - believe me I FULLY know.
OTOH it's the Moderates here & elsewhere that reminds me what humanity is supposed to be about.
Well done.

well, you know the drill, instead of trying to approach you out of love, some fellow Christians go the whole fire and brimstone deal on you...I think it is the same with some atheists (minus the fire and brimstone)..Plus I know you know, that there are bad apples in every bunch.. and Ariel you know we only have one God...not gods=). I am sorry people attack you for your beliefs, while I may not believe the same, or accept your beliefs, I think for the most part Wiccans are very peaceful and loving people..I have never met one that I didn't like... I think it is acceptable to tell people that they are wrong, if they are being mean to you and being ignorant and offensive no matter their religious preference because theoretically we are all adults and should have a mutual respect for each other and not be jerks...we should be able to discuss our views maturely no matter what they may be... I know you have always been nice to me so..I like you and I pray for you and everyone on this site, no matter what their religion- after all we can all use prayer no matter who someone else is praying to.. Plus you are totally not Satans child and anyone that claims to be a Christian and says that is an idiot...because true Christians believe we are God's children, and anyone who tells you that you are going to hell needs to remember according to our beliefs, that God is the only judge not us...our job is to simply state what we believe is true and it is up to whomever to choose to believe or not..we are not supposed to beat people over the head with our Bibles if they reject our belief, but we are supposed to get on our knees and pray for them.. I agree that people can be too harsh and frankly if I didn't know the truth many of my fellow 'Christian' brothers and sisters would turn me off to Christianity and the way it is presented on this site.
I hope you have a good night and get nice answers!!

As a Christian, I am secure in my beliefs and always seeking deeper understanding, not only of my own beliefs but those of others. Many people tell me I am wrong for what I believe and I am often ridiculed, esp in this forum. It is annoying to have my words twisted to mean something I did not say by some people who simply wish to have a little hateful fun.
I do not know by what means you discern that someone is a Christian since there are so many posers so I will try to address your annoyance as opposed to those by whom you are annoyed. Your annoyance comes from insecurities growing out of injustice you have suffered. I am truly sorry. I would ask you, if you are so inclined, to examine more deeply the source of your annoyance, apart from other people to gain deeper understanding.

I serve God, not gods. I don't hate any man or woman no matter what they do, believe, or hate for that matter. I don't mind offending anyone. I also don't mind hurting someones feelings. The Word of God may offend and hurt feelings but, the truth hurts. I'd rather have been offended and my feelings hurt if it kept me from being separated from God. Jesus died for you. You are a sinner. You are going to be separated from God without Salvation. Hell is real. The second death is real. God hates sin. I am a sinner. Everyone sins. You will die because of sin. God loves you.
You might have heard all this before. You will continue to hear it until you die. That is the way it is. I hope you understand everything I is said.

Hi, Ariel. I'm a Christian, and I don't believe I've ever made any of those comments to ANY Wiccan or pagan. Two of my best friends are Wiccan. Ask them.
Please don't judge all of us by how some of us act. I'll be the first to admit that sometimes my fellow Christians can be very judgemental.
I respect your beliefs, even if I don't agree with you.
Edit: I missed where you said "some" of us. Sorry. *Blush* I guess I'm so used to seeing generalized statements that I miss the ones that AREN'T. The reason some Christians might judge you...and believe me, their intentions are good, is because they care. It doesn't make it right. We should try not to judge. So please allow me to apologize for them.

Poster above me...we don't convert people!
You will never see us go from door to door.
You will never see us carrying our book of shadows to begin reading out of it to you.
You may see us out in public in full robes.
You may see us in public doing our ceremonies.
You may see us having a good time.
You will never see us pleading with you to come join.
We may ask you if you would like to join and if you say no, we will NOT push the issue.
You will never see us sacrificing another human for their blood so it will rain.
You will never see us flying on our broomsticks or vaccuum cleaners. (Wouldn't it be cool if we could fly though?)
The point is, to be Wiccan, is to be nice to others and treat others with respect and respct yourself. To be Wiccan is to treat everything around you with respect, the same as you would yourself.
For me, being forced to grow up in a Methodist church, I was taught one simple message. I have always believed it and will always live by it. "We are all Gods children. Nobody is any different no matter their skin color, their beliefs, nor their religion. We are all in one the same, and we are to respect others, as they are our brothers and sisters." Rev. Marilynn - Retired.
She's very right. No matter who you are or what you are, no matter your faith and beliefs, we are all the same.
The only "evil" comes from the human mind by other human actions.
In the world of Wicca and Pagan, the world most no longer understand, what goes around comes around, times three.
We all have opinons, but I believe what Ariel is saying is very simple.
Think for a moment, een if you are not offended. If somebody called you evil, how would you react? Would you feel bad for that person? Possibly.
Would you feel offended? Possibly.
If you are answering questions only to bring somebody down, then don't answer that question.
If a question is directed at Wiccans, Witches, Pagans and you are against them... you have one simple choice... don't answer.
I'm gay so I answer a lot of gay questions and if any of you go there to read some questions, you will find Christians condemning them for their thoughts and their questions.
That's abuse and it's wrong.
The rules should be very simple. Going back to when you're 3 years old. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
Basically summed up, do not answer somebodys question unless it is directed at you and you actually know the answer.
If you are going to get on the offensive side of it, just becuase it is a question from somebody of a different religion, does not give you the right to answer it with your personal beliefs of what you think is right and bring the person down.
If you are not Wiccan and only want to preach the bible in a question directed at Wiccans Pagans ect... the choice is simple... DO NOT ANSWER IT!!!

dear sweet sister,
They don't care if they offend, hurt or even in some cases, kill those of us who believe differently than they do. So many times over the years I have seen this behavior. When I was a christian I would hear the elders counseling the teens that they had a duty to their God to punish the unbelievers if they didn't turn to their God. whether that meant shunning other teens or even physical violence they were told to do what ever they had to to get the point across. It finally drove me out of the church and into seeking a better way and then I found Wicca and peace. They don't understand that they will be the cause of the ultimate demise of their own religion. But how many innocents have to suffer before then is staggering and it is going to get nothing but worse. Go to the Goddess and find peace my friend. That is where I find mine. Blessed Be.

I don't get as much hate mail as I used to and as you know one Christian who we both know and love came around and is nice now.
I am having more and more Christians email me with nice comments, yes, I still get hate mail but the last few days the friendly email has been more.I still cringe when I see I have a message from another user and when it is from a friend or a friendly one I rest easy.
I think one thing that has kept the attacks to a minimum is I just calmly tell them if they insist on telling me I am going to hell and if they pray for me this gives me permission to pray to my Goddess for them. I explain that my religion teaches me that harming none also includes not casting spells for those who have not asked, and includes praying or sending postive energy unless I have permission.
When a Christian insist on praying for me I light a candle and pray to the Lord and Lady to be kind and give them blessing the desperately need, and if they email me with a prayer, I send it back with a prayer of my own to the Lord and Lady asking them to bless this person and take away their anger.
This may sound a lot like what they do, but I know of no other way to handle it except givning it to Diety to sort out.
I mean no harm and don't do this except in extreme circamstances where the person is getting out of hand and even Friends who are Christian get out of hand at times. But I always warn them first that if they insist on praying for me, I will light a candle pray and send positive energy. Karma may come back to bite me but my intentions are good.
One Pentecostal woman started rebuking me about my comments on tongues and sent prayers to me and when I sent them back, she feaked out saying I was evil and going to hell and sent preayers for my harm, but I kept sending postive thoughts and prayers, and she avoids me now.
They can be difficult at times especially the tongue speakers and little do they realize what they practice is pagan and not Christian.

I am a Christian and I believe everyone has the right to make their own choices to their religion! I have never and will never push my beliefs down anyone's throat, for that is not right! It seems to me you have been dealing with the so called Christians who are very self righteous! We all have Free Will. And it is up to use to choose the right path for our lives and for our after lives, it is not up to others to choose for us. The word Christian's definition is to be Christ like. Christ was a very loving and merciful Savior. He would never treat you the way that these others you have mentioned have treated you. He would treat you with love and respect and kindness. Yes, He would love to have you believe in Him and to follow His teachings as would I and any good Christian. But, we are not to judge! We are to live by example and to show others of how A Christian life has changed our whole life. We all have to be prepared for the afterlife and where we will spend it. But to be mean and judgmental is not an appropriate way to go about influencing others of your religion. God is Love and He loves all His children and is waiting to welcome all in who will accept Him as their Savior! But, I apologize for those Christians who have not been Christ like and stepped over the line. We are not all like that and I pray you will meet some of us good ones one day and see for yourself. The Bible says, Judge not lest yea be judged. And that is that.

Thanks for the question, I am also a Heathen. It seems to me that religious freedom in America means that you can go to any church or synagogue you want to. No one seems to understand that not all spiritual people believe in jewish or christian belief structures. I think that the judeo-christian belief structure teaches people they need to be spiritual. I prefer the Pagan/Heathen outlook, that we are spiritual, trying to be human. Akasha is eminent, how could we not be spiritual already. We wouldn't exist.
