It's a universal, benevolent, earth symbol representing all the elements. Everyone working magic uses one. It is also worn on the body charged for protection. It is one of the symbols of Satanism. They use their symbol point down. Any dark magic will use the point down. For all other magic it is point up, meaning spirit is over the elements. If I have made a mistake here, I will take correction on it as I want to be factual on all things.

The inverted Pentagram isa signifigant symbol to the Satanic Churches of the world

We as Satanasts have the same respect for out Pentagram as the Christians have for the cross.

The Symbol forms part of the Sigil Of Baphomet as found on the front cover of The Satanic Bible, written in 1969 by deceased Church of Satan High Priest Anton Szandor LaVey.

The Satanic Bible still continues to be more popular than The (Holy) Bible on 90% of U.S. College campusus. There are 3 copies of The Satanic Bible checked out of libraries in tne U.S for every copy of The (Holy) Bible.

no. It has been "demonized" by Christianity.

Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. The Pentagram does have magical associations and is used by neopagans as a symbol of their beliefs.

Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus.

The pentagram has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent. It is also associated with the Roman Lucifer, who was Venus as the Morning Star, the bringer of light and knowledge.

NO it's not. Saitan's symbol only has 1 ring around the 5 pointed star. The pentagram has 2 rings around the 5 pointed star representing the Goddess of most pagan religions. The 5 points I know are for the 5 elements being air earth water fire and omniscient that created the other 4 elements. Now i believe the 2 rings represent female and male energy bringing balence unto the universe...

the pentagram is used by many religions and over the years has stood for many different things.
its hard to take a symbol thats been around for centuries and match it with a group. many groups today use it and many in the past have used it as well

it represents the 5 natural elements. (I've heard of the 5th element being metal by some and ideas according to others)

even christians have found a meaning for it, as the 5 wounds of jesus

No. At least not in Christian views of satanism.

It used to be a holy Christian symbol, used to represent the five wounds of Christ (drawn with the single point up).

The inverted pentagram (single point drawn down) is sometimes associated with satan, in this case, a goat's head is sometimes drawn inside the diagram.

Nope. But, some Satanists use it in their practice such as they use the Inverted Cross.

Pentagram is an old symbol found in many grimoires, and is a protective symbol.

It can represent 5 wounds of a Christ, it can represent a human body (head, spread arms & legs),

In neo-Paganism, drawing on association with elements it would be enclosed in a circle and represent Spirit, Air, Fire, Water, Earth and would be called a Pentacle.

Without a circle one is supposedly working openly with the forces of Nature (no matter what one associates the 'star' to be) in circle, it would be 'bound', offering protection.

Not all inverted Pentagrams/ Pentacles would be a representation of evil. One can see it as a Goat's head (Pagans would see it as a representation of a Horned God), satanists as..... well, guess....

In some Traditional Wiccan 2nd degree initiations it is merely needed to wear the inverted pentacle in order to focus more on oneself. Can't really say more.

All of this info is in public domain, so, anyone can research.

If any of my info (as I write from memory) is innacurate, you're welcome to correct me.

in the late medieval poem 'sir gawain and the green knight' the pentagram is the symbol of sir gawain. sir gawain is the most heroic and chivalrous of all king arthur's knights.

'sir gawain' is actually a very religious poem.

a different poem, probably by the same author, 'the pearl' is one of the great religious poems of the late middle ages.

so in the fourteenth century the pentagram was actually a strong christian symbol.

the trouble is that a lot of people who shoot their mouths off about 'satanic symbols' don't actually know too much.

How many times does this question come up?

No it isn't.

Four points one for each state of mater the fifth point for spirit, the orientation means nothing.
