Kings are acceptable by Biblical standards, so why not?

Dear Cheshire,

Since you are in your visible state, I will answer.

I believe someday I will have a Monarch and He will be Christ Himself. However, in America, as far as having a human leader, I believe the Checks and Balance system works best.

Thank You and have a swell day

Hello, CC:

A Christian theocracy is fine if Jesus it the King, but history records such bad times when churches tell kings what to do.

In fact, there is still a death law on the books in Massachusetts for missing church the third time. The second offense was placed in the stocks for a week, first offense was no rations.

Do you want to go into a system where 50,000,000 people were murdered in the name of God while the state enforced church dogma? Yes, where religions is legislated, sanctions are dictated.

The Bible tells of a healing of the wound, and we can expect an attempted theocracy; why, seems terrorists are making religious freedom look ridiculous, and what chance do we have except to pass laws where "no one can buy or sell unless they have the mark."

Yes, it's coming and the Bible code identifies the major player. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Blessings and AGAPE, Balaam

This seems logical to some. But, there would have to be some conditions. First, they have to be a person who spends a good deal of time in prayer, knows the Bible inside and out and has a good panel of trusted authority to keep them in balance and in line.

They would also have to recognize the practical issues of society, including business, and the details of world politics. They would have to understand that even though things would be run according to Biblical standards, people have individual free will and many will choose to live otherwise. Yet, the laws should only be similar to what they are in that they protect a civil society against thieves, murderers, drunkards, violence and so forth.

But, as it is, our system was started with a body of men of who many were Christians. So, I will trust that Godly wisdom guided the foundings of our free society, despite the mess it is in these days.

one day there will be a true Christian nation when the Lord of Lords and King of Kings return to govern. Rev. 19:11-16.

It wouldn't be good, remember one reason the Pilgrims came over here in the first place? Yeah well it'll happen if the U.S. becomes a theological state...and there'd be a lot of civil unrest until the Inquisition happens again...or Civil War who knows? But it WON'T be good, there'd be even MORE racism and prejudice (maybe not towards race but DEFIANTLY towards non-Christians) so it won't be an utopia...utopias don't exist.

I really think Jesus is the only king now. I disagree with the idea of the Pope. The New Testament never has a leader of the Church... I think. Also, Christianity is all about forgiveness. Therefore, I would oppose the idea of Christians holding people in prison. You make an interesting point though.

It was never God's plan to have kings. It was Israel's insistence.
God wanted to work through prophets or judges. But a monarch might be better then what we have. Democracies are very weak.
Bad Kings only are aloud to arise by God, as a punishment against a rebellious and backsliden populace. If the people are faithful; God will give them a good king.

But the only real answer for mankinds problems is THEOCRACY... and that isn't rule by a man OF GOD... it's rule BY GOD. Only God will be able to cure the diseases, wars, famines, hatreds, and destruction that is going on today. Even if there came a human who could change many things for the good, it wouldn't last, as he will die, and someone else will come in with different ideas. Only God can stop disease, hunger, hatred, murder...all the things we need taken care of in today's world!

King or President makes no difference. Both become corrupt nationalists who only want power.
