Is telepathy/empathy possible?

I have had way too many seemingly coincidental experiences since I started meditating.

1)First of all, awareness

I have sometimes been somehow aware of a constant presence which is not my own, even when I am alone. Exploring the possibility of a Guardian Angel, but not too sure.

When I am in crowded, busy places, I sometimes experience bursts of emotion that I do not relate to. Actually in crowded places it happens many times, usually in a short time span. ie I might go through anger, happiness, sorrow, depression, love, joy and calm, all in the space of ten seconds or so, then just back to my normal self.

I have a friend online who lives over 4,000 miles away. I once managed to focus in on my friend's emotion, then told her exactly what pain she was feeling. She confirmed moments later that I was right.

2) Premonitions
It's becoming a common theme from time to time that I have been subconsciously knowing what comes next. About a week ago, I was discussing money with a friend

and mentioned that I had found a dime. They are quite rare in London. I asked who the dude was on the dime. The very next day I was sent to a place in London, to take down some details from a statue. A statue that was right near a statue of the guy from the dime.

On Friday I was listening to a song on my mp3 player, when I suddenly got an image in my head from the video of another song I like. Imagine my surprise when the next song to play on my mp3 was the same one that I had just thought of. Bear in mind, my mp3 has 206 songs on it, and is set to random play.

There have been a number of occasions where I have said things that others were just about to say, word for word. Sometimes, in an instant message chat, I actually post exactly the same things at the same times as others.

And the music one before? It's definitely not the first time, but it's the first time it's been so clearly strange.

In response to Charlie, I am predominantly Buddhist, although I am tentatively leaning towards Paganism too.

Telepathy is not only possible, but probable. And we are all empathetic to some degree, (I hope). You seem to be experiencing an opening of your third eye, and heightened senses related to your meditation. If the emotions you are picking up on become interruptive to your life, you will need to learn to close your third eye or block the thoughts of others in some way. But for now, congrats! You would appear to have found a latent gift within yourself. Use it wisely. Blessings.

Congratulation, you are making progress. You're starting to awaken your mind. soon you'll be using more than the average 10 per cent mentioned by Einstein. Yes, it is normal and do not be afraid of it, though I gather you're quite at ease with your present situation. The presence you are feeling may be many things. It could be your protector spirit or guardian angel, maybe it is a superior part of yourself or maybe a helping entity. You'll know when the time is right. never try to anticipate by force, let things flow, let them come to you. little by little you'll master your ability. I know this sounds crazy or taken form a Sci-fi flick but it's the true. Surely enough, you'll get insults and another useless comments by less evolved people like some Christians for example. Don't mind them, they are still growing.
Yes, what you're experiencing among crowds is called empathy and more and more people are developing the ability nowadays. I know it may be upsetting sometimes since you feel like a rush of mixed emotions sometimes even experiencing them all at one time. that should regulate itself in time. use your gifts wisely and always with positive intentions, you'll be well rewarded and you'll be able to see much more than now. This is a leap and all humans are experiencing it, we're all entering a new stage of existence.
Oh, and don't worry; I'm not a crook from one of those sects or something like that.

As others have already said, it's not only possible, it's more than probable, it is. There has been 'scientific' proof of it for years, but it would not be 'convenient' for everyone to know just exactly how powerful this faculty is, or that we all have it, and especially that we can train ourselves to increase our capacity to use it.

You are on exactly the right track, and to train yourself just focus on those things that you are already noticing and allow your perceptions to 'solidify' more and more until you can 'switch it on' like a light. You can take this as far as you feel inclined to do so, there are literally no limits.

Notes of caution :

1. People will try to discourage you with nonsense like you have already seen here, the same nonsense they used to use as 'evidence' in the witch trials, and then burn or drown perfectly respectable wise women who used to be the receptacle of most of our healing knowledge for thousands of years. Take no notice of these gnomes. These gifts are not the work of a non-existent 'Devil', they are the natural right and heritage of our species, claim them as such.

2. Your presentiment of a Guardian Angel is, in my view, your Ruling Entity, what some call the 'Higher Self'. It is the energetic consciousness that manifested your current human body, if that sounds a little weird I'm sorry it isn't meant to. We are two part beings, and that material part that we think of as who we are is just the 'nuts and bolts', so to speak. Your ruling entity puts part of it's awareness into your mind, whilst still concurrently maintaining it's presence in all other planes/dimensions. Thus when you get these 'glimpses' of it's existence it is just a reflection of your greater, energetic self. But it does, indeed, 'guide' you throughout all of your decisions, even though you, at the Earth level keep your sovereign right of free will.

3. Be careful with 'premonitions', all possible outcomes are followed in some consciousness chain or other, and we can disturb people's chain by switching their focus, and this is an error in most cases. However, having said that premonitions can be useful if treated with care. But above all remember that there are no 'fixed' futures, destiny doesn't work like that, in general we are moving towards a desired objective, but in the details we always have the possibility to change .... anything.

4. Everyone's 'path' is slightly different, so no-one, no matter how 'wise' they seem, can tell you exactly how things will work out for you, apart from anything else, that would be boring, wouldn't it ? ;-)

So have fun working out where you want to go with your new skills.

Helena, Very interesting question. The first thing to know is that you are not crazy, and you are not reading too much into these experiences. A wide variety of people have experiences like this all the time, and they are absolutely real. In fact, I happen to be one of them. On one occasion I felt a sharp, stabbing pain in my arm for no apparent reason while I was at work. I called my mom to find out if anything was wrong. Guess what? She was with my brother in the hospital, and he had just been stuck in the arm with an IV at the exact time TO THE SECOND that I felt the pain. Myself and others in my family could recount numerous such stories to you until you were sick of hearing them. Anyone who can brush this off as coincidence, quite frankly, is being intellectually dishonest. Also, you should be aware that when WellTravledProg claims that the scientific evidence proves telepathic abilities to be "rubbish", he is 100% wrong. Actually, the majority of the controlled studies that have been done since the 1970's have shown positive results, but most skeptics are not aware of these results because they are published in journals that they have already deemed a priori to be "unscientific" simply because of the subject matter they deal with. Effectively, they are using circular reasoning. They are concluding that psychic abililties are rubbish because the evidence for psychic ability is published by people who investigate psychic ability, which they assume to be rubbish. (Did you catch the loop, there?) The good news is that you don't have to give up your scientific outlook on life in order to accept these phenomena as real. In the 17th century when Newton proposed gravitational theory, the scientific community of the times thought he was NUTS, because gravity seemed like a supernatural force to them. But the more we learned about how gravity works, the more real it became, and scientists eventually accepted it. As you said, we know very little about how the brain works and what consciousness is. I'm convinced that the answers will be found there, but it will take time to sort out how it works, just as it took time to sort out the nature of gravity. But the very LAST thing we should do is assume that something isn't real just because we don't understand it yet. THAT would be truly unscientific. Just remember that science is based on observation. So if you are observing something that is not explainable in terms of principles you already understand, it means there are new principles at work producing new phenomena that we don't yet understand. The proper course of action is to investigate what is causing this phenomena, not to assume it isn't real. So stand tall, defend your observations, and be a TRUE scientist. Discovery happens through open inquiry, and we need as many inquiring minds as we can get. And by the way, there are a growing number of scientists who are recognizing this. I have a Ph.D. in geochemistry and I understand the scientific method very well - I accept evolution, modern physics, cosmology, etc., so I'm not just some flake who "wants to believe". You don't HAVE to "believe" when you can directly observe people having telepathic experiences all the time.

Yes. It happens to me very often. Its almost like tuning in clear to a radio station and knowing the song that's playing. I have had experiences like yours quite often. I used to think I was going through moods until I realized how sensitive I am to others moods to a point of actually 'feeling' what they feel. Its an awesome gift that can help others get through something-if used correctly (TO HELP OTHERS.)

It is possible, real, and it happens.

Most people misuse the word coincidence, concidentally. It simply means "two things that happen at the same time". What you are talking about is things that are unlikely to occur; things that are beyond the realm of chance.

Such things happen. You might want to look at the offerings of the American Society for Psychical Research.

I know several telepaths. Yes. It is possible. That is what all those "psychics" are doing -- extending themselves telepathically. But a true telepath would not in good conscience market themselves as a "psychic."

Your premonitions, etc., are you tuning into a Universal Consciousness -- the Oneness of Us All -- the Tao, the Universal Life Force. Keep it up. It only gets better.

Quite possibly, it could be God trying to wake you up. But instead you turned it into something else. See we as mankind are connected. We are connected through God. Through Christ Jesus, We were all created, and we share a very close bond.

Do I think telepathy exists? Quite possibly. A few people who have been fortunate enough to visit a part of heaven, and then return to earth to tell about it, say that they remember hearing everyone but not so much in words. So this could be a possibility. Is the power from you? Absolutely not. Us as human beings are very weak, and not strong. Even though people filled with pride love to think they have all the power in themselves, death proves to them how weak mankind really is.

Also, if God wasn't controlling demons, the demons could easily kill everyone on this planet without even laying a finger on us. That also shows how weak we are. Look at the book of Job. God allowed Satan to do these things to Job, but he told him that he cannot kill job. Does anyone see how weak we really are without God?

Feeling peoples emotions, or getting premonitions can come from 1 of 3 places. 1)From your imagination. 2)From a demon tricking you into believing something other then Christianity, or into believing that you can practice magic / contacting the dead / etc etc, and still believe in "a god". Or 3), it came from God for a divine purpose.

What you need to do, is pray and ask God to reveal where all of this is coming from. It's not unnatural for demons to see what others around the world are feeling/doing, then relay that message back to the demons that are around you to fool you. Remember, they are extremely smart. Beyond our intelligence. They never eat, sleep, drink, or play. They are on us like hawks day in and day out. They are going to hell and know it, so they want to trick everyone they can, so they end up in hell with them. And so far, they've been doing a wonderful job since everyone blindly follows them. It breaks my heart, it really does.

Yes, this happens to me all the time. (I'm a pagan and a Witch.) I can usually look at a person and know how they are feeling, but it is often rude to say so out right. And sometimes I know what is going to happen, but not as often.
