... have we never had a female president? Pakistan - Pakistan, for Pete's sake - has had a female prime minister! In fact, she was prime minister twice! Why is it that the first viable female candidate for the presidency is being vigorously smeared and adamantly opposed by the religious right?

And I understand that, Midge. But we've had liberal MALE presidents. See what I mean? :)

Well, some like to pick and choose from the bible to support whichever cause is of the moment. There are parts of the bible which says a woman should know her place and not preach and they generalize that to being politically active too. A strong woman with views of their own - and oh my liberal views at that - is 'evil'.
Until a mind shift goes on where people are not judged by outdated texts and merely on their abilities to do jobs then it won't change much.

Well, here's the deal.
1) Christians DON'T treat women wonderfully. In fact, they are seen as second-class citizens and boy, the religious uprising of rage when they were finally allowed to vote! In many instances, they are treated like property but--of course--there are many religions that treat them far, far, worse.
2) America is not a Christian nation. That's why there's an amendment to the constitution which states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." I know it isn't followed very closely, but it's still in there. In fact, it's the first amendment.
3) We have never had a female president because the majority of the people who live here are Christian. See point number one. Plus, aren't we doing so well in making the rest of the world love and respect us with the president we have now? *Sarcasm in its purest form*
4) The American public will smear the leadership of any other country because... well... we're American. About the only thing the rest of the world stands in awe of about our country is its staggering ego. As Micheal Moore pointed out, it sure isn't health care.
That pretty much answers your question. It's sad... but, yeah.

A man walking along a California beach was deep in prayer when all of a sudden he said aloud, "Lord grant me one wish". The sky clouded and a booming voice said, "Because you have tried to be faithful I will grant you one wish." The man said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over anytime I want to."
The Lord answered, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the logistics of that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time to think of another wish, a wish you think would honor and glorify me".
The man thought for a long time and finally said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand women. I want to know what they feel inside, what they are thinking when they give me the silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say 'nothing', and how I can make a woman truly happy?"
After a few minutes God said, "How many lanes do you want on that bridge?"

...I guess you mean Senator Clinton.
...Perhaps you can provide me with any valid reason to support her.
*--She is a one-time Senator, and was re-elected, in a state where she had no previous experience.
*-- She does whatever is to her political advantage.
*-- She finds in our Constitution the “right” to give birth to a child three quarters of the way, and then brutally murder it.
*--She also is pro-death, meaning she supports a woman's right to murder her unborn baby. She believes abortion on demand is the right of every woman; however, it is not in the Constitution.
*--She is a former first lady, but this is meaningless - she was elected to nothing.
*--Mrs. Clinton removed papers from the Vince Foster’s office before the FBI sealed it off – that was tampering with evidence, and she was never nailed for it.
*--She was the head of the group that tried a federal power grab, that being a cradle-to-grave health care scheme that would have included every person; its impact is it would have ruined 1/7 of our economy, as well as the availability of many procedures, and clients would have nickle-and-dimed it to death.
*--The Clintons are habitual liars, who took advantage of many people and destroyed others (like those in the travel office) while Bill Clinton was President.
*--They used his time in office to live hedonistic lives, and on their way out, stole things from the White House (I guess "it took a pillage"?)
…I could never support this woman. She cannot be trusted, and has the potential to do great harm if elected.

Women already have their foot in everything...they run the world. They raise children from all walks of life. Even Jesus had a mother....what is your point. How can you compare a Prime minister to a Queen? Are you into monkey see monkey do? Are we the Jones. Can a woman really manage dictatorship. In some things men should stay the head of the castle. Queen Elizabeth was born into it...there is a difference. God will raise her up if it does happen...men say whatever you want!

Hard for some to change old ways. I would vote for a woman president if I thought she was capable of doing a good job. I would not blindly vote someone into a position of power just because she was a woman and I thought that woman should be president. Personally I don't support Hillary Clinton. But that is more politics than religion.

We have Playboy, Hustler, Penthouse, and a dozen other pornographic publications featuring women. We have FHM, Maxim magazine and Sports Illustrated has their famous Swin Suit edition. We have Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears. Women serve in high positions in the Military. Woman fly airplanes in the Military. Women are doctors, lawyers and scientist in America. And we allow women like Rossie O, Ellen DeGeneres, Pamela Anderson and Jane Fonder to spread their propegation nonsense in America. Where exactly is it that America is treating Women so wrongly?

I don't understand your premise. Just because we treat women wonderfully why would that mean we have to elect one as President? Personally I don't think male or female should be the issuse, it should rest entirely on their qualifications and capabilities.

I don't think it has anything to do with Christianity. Most women simply aren't willing to play the games that politicians have to play.
I hope neither gender takes that as insult. I hope that politicians do, however . . . .

Umm...maybe we just don't like the candidates???
I'm a female myself and I'm not too fond of the idea of Clinton being president. I'm not sexist or anything, and neither is the rest of America, but I just feel there are better candidates for president, and yes, they happen to be men.
You're really grasping at straws here in your quest to make Christians look bad.
God bless!
