I am not religious. I just don't connect with religion. I wish I did and I am open to finding it some day. I am however very afraid of death. Specifically, I am afraid of the end of everything forever. If you too had this fear, yet have come to peace about it, please share what you did or what happened to allow you to do so.

Misinformation No. 4 - "We are Commanded To Prove God With The Tithe "

Mal. 3:10 -

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine huse, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."

Just as there was a curse for breaking the Law, there was a blkessing for keeping the Law, Israel was challenged to keep the law of tithing and therby put God to the Test.

Malachi 3:10 was not written to the church but the children of Israel before Messiah comes.

Taoists believe that time is cyclical rather than linear, as is believed in the west. My question is: how is this possible? I don't mean how is it possible that someone can believe this, but rather what is a good explanation of cyclical time? Does this relate to the belief that the universe has always existed, but has collapsed in on itself over and over again, only to re-expand? Can this be tied to the emerging hypotheses that it may someday be possible to see before the time of the Big Bang? When answering, please include any references that you can, and please be respectful of others. Thanks!

Will there be more of the current religious minorities and less of the major? I think things will become more liberal; more freedom to think what we want instead of one idea surrounding us always. Instead of 33% of the world practicing Christianity, maybe ideas will spread and things will become less specific. I don't care if you think religious ideas changing in the future is a bad thing, I just want to know what you honestly think is going to happen. That is, at least, if the world doesn't end in 2012 as the Mayan calendar states.

I'm a christian I didn't know anything about masturbation. I was kind of curious. Now I feel addictive, one side says it's okay to masturbate, while another group(christian) told me not to because in a way it's adultery. I still want to be christian and believe in God and do anything to obey him, but I still have urges to masturbate. People keep on telling me catholics are forcing people to obey them while catholics say they are helping me. I need everyones help. Please help decide whether to decide on masturbating or not which will lead you to help me, by suggestions on probably how to keep my mind occupied. Thank You.

There are a number of Bible references to angels assuming human form (be it messengers, guardians, etc).

Do demons (fallen angels) have this same ability, to appear in human guise?

Just wondering.

(and please, people in general, no jokes about mother-in-laws)

You christians go around trying to convert everyone else to christians, so how do you know your religion is the true one, and the other's not? After all, you only got your bible as reference to your belief. Other religions also have their holy texts. And the story of Jesus sounds very similar to many other stories, Buddha for instance. It is not possible that all religions are true, there could only be one(or none is true). There is nothing in your religion that makes it more believable than other religions. As a matter of fact, religion is made up by man(but that's another topic). You christians go around and say how every other religious believers other than your own won't go to heaven. Assume that christianity is true, would it be fair to abandon people with different beliefs? After all, what makes christianity more believable than other religions?

I don't get it, if you ask "How can i become gay?" , then you get a million responses.

But if you ask "Can someone help me, im about to kill myself?", you only get at least 7 answers, if that.

Whats the deal?

I have a friend (and by friend I mean I really have a friend ) who suffers from low self esteem. She is heavy (5'4 and about 230lbs) and has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which causes her to have wierd patches of hair on her (that no one can see). So her attitude stinks most of the time and she has a hard time trusting people from church because she's been hurt so much in the past (people making fun of her, etc..). How can she learn how to open up and not be full of anxiety? She is 24, married, no kids. Husband doesn't go to church with her. This is serious so no rudeness please!

Why muslims has the right from a book to call me by a name I did not choose: "Infidel" and why they have the right to "fight" us until we believe in what they do?, why muslims are the only "religion" with the obligation of spread, dominate earth with an Islamic law?

Is this not the basement of all the muslims wars?, are muslims then believing they are better than us? why they don't live us believe in what we want?, is not the same right that they have?

Why Muslims are the only ones in more than centuries burning churches and Buddist temples and there is not any religion blowing Mosques, except Muslims themselves? Intolerance maybe?

Can Islam live in peace with these basic lines with Christians, Buddhist or Atheists without an Islamic law treating us as slaves?, why I don't see a Jew blowing himself in a German restaurant after Hitler?, has the jews more education and moral than muslims?

Can Islam allocate itself in this world without a massive war?

While making certain life decisions I wonder about the human race. Our thoughts and actions are shameful; we can be selfish, greedy, dishonest…. Why? What is the main reason for us to be this way? Do we realize we are very minute beings that can die any moment, any day, whether young or old? Do we think about the millions of things that can go wrong with our body? One single switch in only one of the millions of reactions of our body could lead to a defect. I can die tomorrow morning when I walk to my car, it could even happen while I am asleep today!
This makes me wonder, what is there to life? Think about it...Of course there is love, relationship, family, money, power and everything else that exists. But at the end, what is it all for? Think, what is our final destination after living in this corrupt world, after the greed, lies, drugs, sex, violence. Don't we all leave one day, for our works and names to be forgotten?
I believe life can be more meaningful if we realize there is something much bigger than us. We are all seeking happiness here. I believe true happiness comes from being a righteous person; a good person who helps those in need and one who has accepted and follows God.
Any reactions? What do you think? What gives you meaning in life even with all the above things in mind??

I'm trying to get more of a feel for how so-called followers of the Bible approach the questionable areas...

Does God also need to rest? Sounds more like a human to me. And by the way, remember when God called Adam and Eve who were hiding in the bushes? The way He called them it sounded like He didn't know where they were and that they had eaten the fruit. He found out after they came out that they had eaten from the Tree of Life(the way God made it sound). Doesn't God know the future? Why did He have to pretend like He didn't know? Or would that be too much of a headache for the writer? Oops! I think Snow White is much less contradictory within itself than the Bible....
