You christians go around trying to convert everyone else to christians, so how do you know your religion is the true one, and the other's not? After all, you only got your bible as reference to your belief. Other religions also have their holy texts. And the story of Jesus sounds very similar to many other stories, Buddha for instance. It is not possible that all religions are true, there could only be one(or none is true). There is nothing in your religion that makes it more believable than other religions. As a matter of fact, religion is made up by man(but that's another topic). You christians go around and say how every other religious believers other than your own won't go to heaven. Assume that christianity is true, would it be fair to abandon people with different beliefs? After all, what makes christianity more believable than other religions?

Christianity is different first of all. It is the only religious system that does not operate on a works system for salvation. It is also the only religion that operates on a term called grace (unmerited favor) Jesus also made claims that no other religious icon made. Now none of this means anything to someone who does not believe it to begin with so I will mention but a few interesting pieces of information. More than one secular historian from the first and second century claim that there was a great darkness that covered the land around the time Jesus died. (must have been an eclipse) another secular historian claimed Jesus to be a dark sorcerer. (miraculous gifts possibly) Another secular historian mentions a great earthquake when Jesus died (that is a bit convenient) The Jewish Talmud claimed all of these things as well, as well as the fact that he hung on a cross. (the Jews have no reason to back up Jesus, they don't believe in him) Also in the Old Testament in Psalms and Isaiah which were written 500-700 years before Christ (even liberal scholars will give this dating) mention holes in God's palms and his feet, his side being pierced, and of all things his beard being plucked out. (this was unique to Roman practice) Anyway, there are plenty more reasons, but I don't really think you are interested from the sounds of your question. Whatever the case may be if Jesus did claim to be the Son of God, then he was either a liar, lunatic, or telling the truth. I find no fault in the man, and can't deny him. By the way, if it was all a lie, why did no one deny the existence of Jesus? Or why didn't anyone deny he died on a cross, and why didn't anyone just start displaying his body around town. Why was it, until 5 and 6 centuries later that people started to deny these things. Christianity was surrounded by opposition, wouldn't there be numerous accounts, or just a few saying he didn't exist, or he didn't die on a cross. That would seem simple enough.

I didn't read the entire thing, but don't think me as offended is the reason! I'm Atheist.
In any case, the reason Christians believe their religion is true and others are fake is close to the same reason I believe (the belief of, since it's most definitely not a religion) Atheism is true and religion is fake. The reason that differs from their reason is the whole 'factual evidence' thing, but this question (I may be wrong in this next phrase I say since I didn't read all of it) should have been worded differently.

I will not try to convert you. My Christian response is just a response.
Why do people like you bring up Buddha? Buddha denied being divine. He merely presented a path to go on.
Who convinces us that we are saying the right things when it comes to "Trust in Jesus Christ and be saved" is God. You think that there is no Holy Spirit? Why? Just because you have never experienced Him? So what? I'll bet a lot of things are true that you didn't experience.
So you don't believe. That's okay. Because God doesn't want everybody anyway. Only those who want to know God are capable. So give it up! You don't have the Spirit of God leading you to Him and you don't have all the answers! I don't have all the answers either, but I do know God. And that's what Jesus said, " My sheep know my voice" and "I am the Good Shepherd."
So go ahead and doubt what we say about Him, you are only denying Him, and you are also only saying more about yourself than you are anyone else.
So have a good life. Become rich and have a happy life. It's not my problem what happens after. What are you wasting your time here for?

There are sincere believers in all denominations.
And each of them love God and understand the teachings of Jesus a bit differently.
Some are in error in minor ways and some are just plain and obviously mislead by religious leaders.
People that love Christ and have been baptized will have a teacher come that is sent by God. God will open their mind to see their own errors rather than focusing on what they think is error by others.
After all, what makes Christianity more believable than other religions?
Christ taught with utter simplicity and completeness. No teacher before or after has been as The Great Teacher - the Messiah.

Why are you in conflict?
These are sheep and the church is the corral where the shepard resides.
Different sheep have different leaders.
Religion is a name for some of these definable types of teachers...
So what if they beleive in what they have strongly and are taught to draw others in by forcing ideas on them to change their minds. In a sense, they are taught that they should gather the lost sheep and bring them to the church.
And what outline should they have for recognizing the lost sheep except that they do not already belong to the church and therefor must be lost.
This is so that the catholic church can get new members and grow in strength and income.
And lost sheep will only find their way to the devil.
No I dont believe these things. Im just trying to reason out why certain christians are evangelists.

Actually, the Bible isn't the only source. Most forms of Christianity are experiential....meaning that most Christian believe they experience their relationship with God through Christ.
As to why Christianity sees itself as the true religion...because that is the whole point of Christianity....Its kind of like asking a polytheist why the believe in so many Gods. And as you point out, its not possible for all religions to be true, if for no other reason than Christianity maintains as a fundamental that it is the only truth (which in the "all religions are true" assertation would make at least one untrue :)
As far as why we go around saying non-believers won't go to heaven....that goes to the would it be fair to abandon people with different beliefs question---no, Christians don't want to abandon anyone, that's why they share the gospel. Which explains the going around trying to convert everyone. (BTW, it kind of sounds like you're mad at Christians for sharing their faith, but at the same time want their faith include you.)
As far as why it is more believable---that's subjective. I find it more believable because I experience Christ. I've felt the Holy Spirit, I've felt the Father's love. Again, its subjective and I'm guessing you would find it rather weird, but you asked :)

Hey! Who told you that? Ignore that opinion about what other people say because that's not a fact. Christians, Muslims and other religion have all one thing in common and that's living peacefully. From my opinion, being competitive with your belief won't do you any good. So don't listen to people who said that Christian is the best in all religion because we have to know that all religion are equal, no better, no lesser. Beliefs are inspiration in life that keep you belive in hope whether you are a Christian, Muslim, Mormon or born again. It doesn't matter what is your belief, what matters is how you apply your belief in good use. Case Done (.) Period!

It is, in my study, the only religion that is not a religion. it is a relationship. all the reasons why are to long to list but the most important is the relationship. everything else is man reaching God not God reaching man. It is not possible for all religions to be true because truth cannot contradict its self. Jesus said no one comes to the father but by me. So if all religions are true we have a problem, Jesus says there is only one way. how can there be one way but many, it is not logical. you assert that there is nothing more believable about Christianity than anything else. What is Truth????

A true Christian could care less about your religious beliefs. They understand that not all people believe the same as they do. In fact, within Christianity itself, there are several forms and set of beliefs.
As far as your question "what makes christianity more believable than other religions" well if a person believes in their own religion, no matter what that may be, well then they obvioulsy believe it's more believable than any other religion.

I was just reading a question where everyone was railing against what the pope supposedly said (even though he didn't) and one of them said he needs to be born again or he will go to hell. They really just don't get it. I'm Buddhist so I understand about the similarities in the stories. As Buddhists though, most of us realize they are stories and that all religions have positive points. We aren't into the whole condemning thing.
