I don't get it, if you ask "How can i become gay?" , then you get a million responses.

But if you ask "Can someone help me, im about to kill myself?", you only get at least 7 answers, if that.

Whats the deal?

Because people fear to interact with such a serious matter, because they fear that they might say the wrong thing and cause that person to actually kill themselves.

It's easy to deal with the "lighter" issues, and very hard to deal with the truly serious ones, so they are avoided.

Associating yourself with someone who is suicidal is deeply depressing, in my experiences. I would help them if I saw they were serious, but like someone else said, a lot of people just try to get some attention.

It makes you wonder, doesn't it? I think homosexuality is an abomination, and think that more attention should be given to a person in distress, than someone in a perverted lifestyle.

Actually, I don't think I've ever answered a gay-specific question, since I'm not gay to begin with.

This might be the first, actually.

Yeah, I've noticed that too.

I even asked a question why my joke questions get a million responses and my serious theological questions get three.
(That got three responses.)

Welcome to America.

It's a touchy issue that not many people want to answer. Further, when someone says that on yahoo answers it's either fake, or too late to help them.

I'm sorry if you're about to kill yourself this isn't the right section to be asking in, the correct section is "polls and surveys"
