When you say Pascal Wager! Do you know what are you really saying!

Why don't you use your brain to respond to the questions "under the Pascal wager Thing" uhmm

That theory is based on ignorance about God, and I just simply don't care about Mister Pascal

To elaborate: How is it that people can go through life everyday hurting, abusing and mistreating (gossiping, belittling) others, sometimes even in the name of their religion and yet they will be forgiven so it's ok. Who are these people to judge whether or not they will or will not be forgiven? Who are they to tell us we will go to hell? I mean does someone hand out a license for this when they sign up to some huge organized true faith religion. Somehow if there is a God and Jesus in the way the big money churches want you to believe. Would they really be ok with their beliefs and sayings being manipulated to fit the situation at hand? Allowing people no personal responsibility for their actions?

Awesome! Seems like no Y/A couldn't find any similar questions.

Okay more here's some more details. God didn't have to create the perfect humans, but he sure didn't have to create humans with the capacity and potential for hate and anger. If he was omniscient and can see ahead he would have known his creation would be doomed to cause suffering and pain amongst themselves.

Sure humans can be given free will. But as a creator, god could easily have had a blue print which made humans without the capacity for these negative characteristics. It just doesn't make sense for a loving god to plant these defective and destructive characteristics into his creations.

You say humans with free will would have found out about these anyways right? But I disagree. If you believe in a creator that is all powerful, then something as fundamental as this could not have been overlooked.

So many questions, but very similiar. I'm guilty of this too but...

Christians this,
Atheists that,
Catholics this
Jehova Witness' that,
Islam this,
Mormons that,
Science this,
Creation that,
FSM this,
logical fallacies that,

yada yada yada

Here's a good question:

Do think our personalities and our self-awareness is due to the divine? That we have a spirit?

Or

Is it all complex chemical reactions?

My mom's maiden name is "Levine". We have never practiced Judaism. In fact, I've never been introduced to it. So is it a religion or nationality?
p.s. I do not know of any practicing Jews in my family.

yup... so god basically paid himself to let people into heaven...

So lets say i owned an amusement park. People wanted to get in, but i said they couldn't get in until they paid... but then i said that i would pay for them, so i created a man out of playdough, and then sacrificed him to myself to replace the payment required for them to get in - but then i said they couldn't get in until they acknowledged that my playdough man paid for them to get in...

^^ is that the premise of christianity in a nutshell? (me = god; playdough man = jesus; amusement park = heaven)

I'd like all you who drink to have one on me, for my birthday!

Here's the question:

Since there are so many gods and goddesses, and there's no way to tell which ones are "real" except through faith, isn't it better to honor them ALL then to risk whatever bad consequences there will be for not honoring the right one(s)?

Literal.

Peter replied to the Lord's question regarding who men thought HE was.. and Peter's reply came from the Father .. that Jesus is the Christ . the Son of the Living God.
It was not upon Peter as a Person that the Lord would build His church .. But Rather upon the Revelation of what the Father Revealed to him that was the Foundation upon which the church is built. We do not have a man as a foundation .. but our foundation is the Christ as the Word.

Peter stood with the eleven in the Book of acts.. not by himself.. he took the covering of the brothers there wtih Him when the Church was started.
Paul's ministry was in unveiling God's eternal purpose regarding the Church as the Body of Christ.
John's ministry was a mending ministry after both peter and paul died to strenghten the holes bought in my different teachings and to bring the believers back to " That which was from the beginning"
SO tell me this..Is Peter or The Lord the foundation upon which the church is built

i am christian, and i believe that there are people who are blessed with these gifts... although i also know that there are many who think they have the gifts but really don't.
there are people who lie and some that just really don't know any better.

i know that sometimes i have felt God talking to me and telling me to do something... can i call that a phrophecy? or is that simply a "gut" feeling?

can't someone just tell you something and say that it was the Holy Spirit or God?

i went to a church once, and the pastor said the Holy Spirit was asking someone for 10k dollars.... YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!!

What do you think? Are most people true or not? Would you believe?

I wonder if there are people who know a provable sign of a creator of nature.
I saw this video created by someone who proved this with only a banana. It's a bit embarrassing and hard to believe, but the banana fits exactly into a human hand. This could not have been formed through evolution.

I would like to learn more of these signs. Does anyone know ?

*apologize for my bad english.

For those you think I'm making up words: Religiosity: another term that would work equally well, though is less often used, is 'religiousness'. In its narrowest sense, religiosity deals more with how religious a person is, and less with how a person is religious (in terms of practicing certain rituals, retelling certain myths, revering certain symbols, or accepting certain doctrines about deities and afterlife).

Studies have shown that there exists an inverse relationship: that individuals with lower IQ's (spelling and grammatical errors; selective hearing; slow to grasp new concepts; illogical reasonings; ditzy; etc. etc.) tend to be much more religious.
What has been your experience?

You know, it's not goosebumps, it's inside. It's like a wave of emotion or feeling, usually felt in the extremities and torso like it's echoing from the heart. I won't say what makes me feel it, because I don't want people thinking I'm a punk...but it accompanies love and feelings of love. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Is that like, a "spiritual moment"? Then, sometimes, you get teary eyed and you aren't sad or anything...

I know someone out there understands.
