Here's a good question:

Do think our personalities and our self-awareness is due to the divine? That we have a spirit?

Or

Is it all complex chemical reactions?

Apparently I dont get bored cuz I'm still here. I love all the different points of view, negative and positive. It is frustrating, but it just wouldnt be the same if we were all good little boys and girls.

Anywho, a week ago I would of said chemicals but today I say spirit...again (as I have before). I realized organized religion is my problem, not God. There are many ways to God, why would he limit it only to one. but I dont think it was poof and we're here, I believe God created evolution.

Yes, because they are not true questions but rather a statement to bring down the people and their beliefs. I'm going to relate mainly to the JW questions because I was brought in that organization. Everyday I see questions that start with JWs are liars they now support.... I don't think that is a question at all, but there are people who are good intentioned and do want to know what they are all about. It's just the ones that start with a stupid remark that are annoying.

Now to answer your question I don't think personalities comes from spirits or from the divine. Instead from our mind and chemical reactions. Contrary to what some people say here JWs do believe in scientific facts (it's only the theory of evolution and Big Bang Theory that we discredit as false). Some people just think differently than others and that's due to the way they were brought up also-- along with how their mind works.

Part 1: Yes it does get rather repetetive.

Part 2: Well, I think its a little bit of both... We are endowed with certain divine qualities such as love, but some of our moods are probably (@ least partially) due to chemical reactions, as we see when it comes to treating depression.
Self-awareness is most likely a divine endowment, and possessing a spirit is a quality that we share with the animals.

Sometimes, I just get tired of repeating myself. What'd I'd really like is a good challenge backed by real evidence and history.

I once lost an argument on Sola Scriptura that lasted for several months. It was a continual research followed by dialogue followed by research approach. In the end, I converted to Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

I wish I could find an argument that challenges me as that one did. I hear the same questions over and over, and then see the same old watered-down arguments pop up every time. I'm more tired of most of the answers than I am of the questions. People don't re-evaluate their beliefs enough, I think, in general. Or, they aren't willing to really consider or open up to an opposing viewpoint. I think this continual consideration and re-evaluation and polishing of one's belief is a necessity in the process of finding the Truth.

Hearing so many bland arguments just makes finding Truth more difficult and tedious.

No, I never get bored. Although the questions are the same, the people asking are different. Having read all of the answers from pervious questions, I am in a better position to phrase my answers. Every sincere, seeking, question asked by someone who is seriously looking for an answer, is an opportunity to bear witness for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Yes, it is boring when the same old questions are recycled, especially by those with an agenda of insult.

Regarding whether human personality is the result of mere chemical reactions, it seems significant to note that the bible teaches that humans are uniquely created in the "image" of God and Christ, which is what allows humans to actually worship in a meaningful way involving free will.

(Genesis 1:26-27) God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth.” And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him

Interestingly, however, the Scriptures teach that all of creation has a role in praising the Creator.

(Psalm 150:6) Every breathing thing—let it praise Jah.

(Revelation 5:13) And every creature that is in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, I heard saying: “To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.”

it gets repetitive, but then i don't think people of whatever religion should just bask in being unquestioned. then, they all just assume their religion is right, regardless of it's flaws. so i suppose so, but it's not necessarrily a bad thing.

maybe...you could cover the two....and if you believe in "the divine", then maybe that...is what enables the chemical reactions...so science is not wrong, but it just goes a bit further than that? it's just a theory, but maybe it could be right...then again, maybe it could just be trying to avoid the real issue. hmm.

Yes I am tired of the same old questions. People should do a search on Y/A and see that the answer to whether god exists or not has been answered. It appears he doesn't lol. jk

This forum is more about debating than anything else. It's fun sometimes when new questions that you haven't heard are posed.
