A few days ago, Pope Benedict issued a proclimation stating that the Catholic Church was the only true path to salvation.

Is there anything in the Bible that supports this, or goes agianst this?

Truthully, I'm lookin for the stuff AGAINST.

And what is your belief?

Also, if you can provide links to any material on the web that would help a person who hasn't seen real science since college, that would be great. Links to astronomy, evolution, etc.

This is a survey/poll type of question. Please do not go and look up the definition before answering or it will not be accurate. If you have no idea what either is, then please put that. If you have a slight idea, or know exactly what it is thats fine, put whatever you believe or have heard. Negative or positive comment ok. I would like some quotes to put in my paper, so if you could answer in full sentences that would be perfect! . Also, please put down where you live, a state/country whatever! THANKS so much for your help!!

What title would you give someone who has been ordained in a Christian ministry? What would they be called by someone who wants them to perform a marriage ceremony? Are they called Reverend, Pastor or Minister? Such as Pastor Joe Smith, Reverend Joe Smith, or Minister Joe Smith, or do they have a title like that at all?

I have a friend who was recently ordained, so I have questions like this for another friend of mine who doesn't know him and she is getting married. She would like to talk to him, but doesn't know how to address him, and I haven't been able to get a hold of him yet to ask. Does anyone know??

Thanks!

Okay there guys.........you who are so pedantic. What makes you think I have not studied the theory of evolution? You are assuming, aren't you? The more I learned about evolution the more I realized it took more faith to believe in that, than to believe in a God Who created all things. Go and read the first two chapters of Romans in the Bible. You have to realize that millions of folks all over the world have also studied evolution, and came to the conclusion that it is a huge attempt to deny the very existence of the God Who created all things.

Is it true the Watchtower is thought of as God's prophet? And if so, what qualifies it to be thought of as God's prophet?

Also what about christians that smoke tobacco but want to quit what should they do.

Is bible study neccesary given it does nothing to aid salvation.

Last question is it enough to be a private christian and just go to church on sundays or should you go to all the meetings.

If my soul hangs in the balance and I'm faced with eternal torment for making the wrong decisions, isn't there an obligation for the book of laws to be clear of any ambiguities?

Finally given the many sects within the many religions, if the believers can't agree amongst themselves as to what the texts mean, what does that say about the clarity of the texts in question?

I think sex is completely natural and it is regarded as a human rights. But some religious faith interfering that and prohibited their followers to have sex before the marriage. Islam is evidently one of them. So does your belief interfere your rights to have sex before you achieve marriage? If so what are good reasons to justify that? I didn't mean to be offensive/bias here but I only wonder why sex can be very strict for certain belief.

I just read this. Very interesting, and right on the mark in my opinion. Here are a few snippets. You can read the entire article at the link below.

"It is an honest statement. It is much better than the so-called 'church diplomacy'." It shows how close or, on the contrary, how divided we are," Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, who heads the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations, told journalists in Moscow.

"For an honest theological dialogue to happen, one should have a clear view of the position of the other side," because "it helps understand how different we are," he said. Basically, the Vatican's current document has nothing new and is in "full conformity with the doctrine of the Catholic Church," Metropolitan Kirill said.

Hi! I don't read the bible too often so I don't know where I
can find certain stuff. Can anyone tell me where I can find
stuff about virginity in the bible. For example, where it says
to wait until marriage, why it's important and stuff like that.
Pretty much... anything that has to do with virginity.
thank you!

There are two reasons people research the true nature of the things; one is for worldly gains; fame, money, etc. and other one is for spiritual development. One who chooses the path for spiritual development attains the samyak-darshana.
Even if they call *their* right faith :
"Islam", "Buddhism", "Christianity", "Paganism" or etc, etc.

Don't you think so?
