All I get are answers like, "I believe it because its true." How do you know its true? Have you ever looked at other "scriptures?" Have you ever posed an objective question.

Should we all thank the Holy Father for starting so much "wonderful dialogue" here today at R&S?

All this has reminded me of this simple yet profound quote from John Paul the Great:

"The truth is not always the same as the majority decision.” -Pope John Paul II

He also said this one, that reminds me of some people around here:

"Stupidity is also a gift of God, but one mustn't misuse it."
-Pope John Paul II

*wink*

According to today's news, the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church has made the (mistaken?) proclamation that all orthodox churches are defective and all other Christian denominations are false churches.

How does this feel to know that, according to one of the world's most powerful religious leaders, your religion is "false" or "defective"?? Please, be honest in your response.

If god didn't want something to happen, do you really think that it would happen? When was the last time you saw someone 'free-will' themselves into defying god's law of gravity by getting out of their seat and walking on air to the clouds above? How about people free-willing themselves to walk through solid objects such as the steel doors of a locked bank vault? Has anyone free-willed themselves into creating an exact duplicate of themselves in order to serve out their prison sentence for them? Has anyone free-willed themself to go back in time and undo a mistake they made before they made it? Has anyone free-willed themselves to travel into the future and them return to the present with the winning lottory numbers?

Not possible you say? Then I guess your idea of 'free-will' is actually limited to what god actually wants you to do, now isn't it? So wouldn't it stand to reason that if there is a god, it's will IS done. If it doesn't want something done, then it CAN'T be done?

The crazy pope says you cannot be saved unless you "recognize the primacy of the pope". How can you NOT see that this is just another crazy cult leader, hungry for power and control of others. Is the pope The Satan in disguise?

I just posted a legitamite answer which I learned in CCD and HS about the Pope and someone puts a thumbs down???

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Anq2tFFYEXeNXn3hHA18gTPsy6IX?qid=20070710083909AATcpGH&show=7#profile-info-e0a81333aa57f8661514f1fcf591fc64aa

Why? I dont get it. the person asked Who is he, what does he do, and why is he such a big deal. I answered truthfully per Catholic Dogma and get a thumbs down?
Jeez, whoever did that is just proving they cant handle another religion's dogma. If it's not your personal belief, dont review it.

I dont put thumbs down when I see a Muslim, Hindu, Christain...etc answer.

Okay. So can you explain to me what's up with Jesus? He was a normal person and then all of a sudden he decides to start preaching and then people kill him because he's the son of God. Right? Or maybe? I don't know. And if Jesus was Jewish why aren't all of us Jewish? I don't understand that. It must be the right religion if Jesus was involved in it. This doesn't make sense to me. Just please explain it in simple English, please! I want to understand, not be more confused! If you're answer is long that's fine but please make it so that I, being a 10th grader, can understand. Thank you so much!

Is the pope dividing those of the Christian Faith? Is this the reason why Christ Himself dispised religion? Could the pope be the anti-Christ?

Pope: Other denominations not true churches
Benedict issues statement asserting that Jesus established ‘only one church’ Pope Benedict XVI has reasserted the universal primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says Orthodox churches were defective and that other Christian denominations were not true churches.

Benedict approved a document from his old offices at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith
Benedict, who attended Vatican II as a young theologian, has long complained about what he considers the erroneous interpretation of the council by liberals, saying it was not a break from the past but rather a renewal of church tradition.

When he is standing before the Great White Throne Judgement for his heresy of declaring himself God, and commanding who is saved by grace, and who is not, in his recent declaration reaffirming "apostolic succession"?

Isn't the Anti-Christ supposed to be making that declaration AFTER the rapture, 3.5 years into the tribulation, in the rebult temple in Jerusalem? A little early isn't he?

Why is that all the christians here slag off other religions and the atheists why r u even getting into conversations if you dont believe in anything. As a Christian myself I welcome everyone as I don't judge people for their believes everyone should respect everyones belief and not have a go at them, so start trying to understand others view points and everyone will live happier ever after
