As an atheist I am not at war with other atheists. I do not go around killing atheists or other non-believers of what they do not believe in.
So why do different religious people kill those of another religion?
It does not make a scrap of sense, but that is not unusual. Their very existence is suspect.

DISCLAIMER: These are serious questions and Im not trying to diss on your religion, so if you have a problem then simply click on the back button instead of trying to waste five minutes of your life writing a really long reply trying to insult me, which I wont read after the first line anyway.

Is it true that you have three layers for Heaven? I was told by Mormons that there really isnt a Hell, everyone who deserves to go to Hell gets stuck in the lowest form of Heaven. They told me the second layer was you got to kick it with Jesus and the third you got to kick it with God. But Hitler and Saddam is kicking it in the first layer by themselves.

Also, the only way to go on your mission is to have the head priest or whatever you wanna call them send you on your mission, but only after God tells them to. Does your preacher talk to God himself?

LORENZAGO DI CADORE, Italy - Pope Benedict XVI has reasserted the universal primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says Orthodox churches were defective and that other Christian denominations were not true churches.
Benedict approved a document from his old offices at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith that restates church teaching on relations with other Christians. It was the second time in a week the pope has corrected what he says are erroneous interpretations of the Second Vatican Council, the 1962-65 meetings that modernized the church.

"Benedict approved a document from his old offices at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith." This is the outfit that was responsible for burning hundreds of thousands at the stake in the Dark Ages. Just what we need , more religious hate. NOT!!!!

"Most people who are atheists are just too lazy to go to church and give time to worship god. They believe the media to much and dont think that what we try to say is true to love others like how you would like to be loved. Just because the media says we "brainwash people" they think what we say is made up. BUT WHO NEEDS TO MAKE UP TELLING SOMEONE TO SHOW LOVE FOR OTHER PEOPLE."

I'll leave it for your comments, R&S. I have to go stop my eye twitching...

1) is "Pedophilia" consider a disease too?
2) Is it true that there is no cure (like alcohol and drugs) but a program that will allow them recovery?
3) Do they really recover or will they always be a threat?
Here is the big question....
4) Can YOU ever forgive a pedophile?

God forgive me, but I can't! How wrong is that?

I would like honest opinions because I haven't been able to forgive my uncle (the pastor) and this has been bothering me for years. I would like "Christians" answers mostly, but will happly take any honest answers.

I was thumbing through the TV stations and she was rambling on pretending like she was preaching and I thought..."What the heck I will watch here for 5 minutes and get a good laugh"...well It was worth the 5 minutes. She was trying to explain how the Old Testament was written and she said it was mostly oral tradition passed down from generations and such. I had no problem with that but then again any amature Bible student could figure that out. She then said that Abrahams father was alive during the last years of Adam...OOOOOOH COME ON. I really hope she didn't mean to say that but I am afraid she meant what she said. She obviously hasn't read the Bible much if she believes Adam was alive when Abrahams father was young. Adam was LONG before the flood and Terah was after the flood. My friends if she will have you believing these SMALL lies she will have your believing BIG lies.

A mild temper helps Jehovah’s people to be submissive and to keep their place in his organization. (Philippians 2:5-8, 12-14; Hebrews 13:17) Mildness restrains us from seeking glory, which is based on pride and is offensive to God. (Proverbs 16:5) A mild person does not consider himself superior to fellow believers, and he does not try to excel at their expense. (Matthew 23:11, 12) Instead, he acknowledges his sinful state and his need for God’s ransom provision. -- Watchtower, October 15, 1991, p 14

that no one really knows whats going on? We rationalize, judge, and question. The more we seek for answers the more questions we have. It's like having two mirrors face each other, the further you gaze into it the further you go. You will never find an end.

I was talking to a co-worker who is Jewish the other day. He was telling me that Jews don't believe in satan. But then he was telling me something about how everyone spends a certain amount of time in hell after they die. Can anyone clarify for me? Im interested in Judism, but this just doesn't make sense to me!

Spare us all the usual Fundy claim that it's not in 'our bible,' it's only in the Old Testament, which, of course, is not the word of God, yes? Yet, when it's convenient to Fundies, you toss OT verses smack in one's face, as "proof" about this, that, or the other nonsence. Read below: it's bloody obscene! If I were a Christian, which, thank god, I am not, the last I would do is attempt to defend this holy dance with inhumanity.

"Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children." (Isaiah 13:15-18 NLT)

There has been a lot of traffic regarding the Pope's latest statement. Following is what is reported by MSNBC and yahoo news:

It restates key sections of a 2000 document the pope wrote when he was prefect of the congregation, "Dominus Iesus," which set off a firestorm of criticism among Protestant and other Christian denominations because it said they were not true churches but merely ecclesial communities and therefore did not have the "means of salvation."

Following is what can be copied from a catholic news source:

Noting that churches and ecclesial communities not yet fully in communion with the Catholic Church “suffer from defects,” the doctrinal congregation acknowledged that “elements of sanctification and truth” may be present in them.

God's rules aren't that hard to follow. Do you think that being a Christian is THAT horrible? The two MAIN rules is love God and love others as yourself. It seems to me that many of you do that already. Atheists would make great Christians. Why not try (at least) to believe in God/Jesus and have everlasting life? Is it God's rules that keep you away or is it a bad experience with Christians and/or the church that has caused you to not believe?

One more thing, is it the fact that you want to do what you want to do when you want to do it that makes you an atheist? If that is the fact, Christians can do whatever they want to do too. It is just that there are certain things that we should avoid in order to live a clean life that is pleasing to God. But we have free will/choice just like you.

I know you don't believe because you don't see. It takes a very strong person to believe in something they cannot see. If you were to TRY to believe, God would "show" himself to you in your heart

What evidence do they base this upon?
It seems they merely just say it is so, without evidence, yet disagree with atheists who say there is no god without providing sources?
Christians who claim there is no goddess are the same as atheists who claim there is no god for the vast majority of values of god....so why don't they get along better?

[Hey Kids, let's see if we can play nice today. If you want to attack my beliefs, make sure you get them right, and there is not enough information in this question to get them right. Don't assume. It makes an @ss out of you....just you.]
