You see, they claim the old testament laws have been wipped clean because of good ol JC. Problem is, when they hate homosexuals they use those same laws that Mr. JC wipped clean. Fact of the matter is, you can find a verse in the Bible to justify anything. We as humans have learned to pick and choose what we like and throw away the rest that we feel don't really apply anymore. Pretty neat deal huh.

This was under Mosaic laws. But Christ came so that we will no longer live under the law but by grace
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Mat 11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

The exact meaning of the key Hebrew word (shown in your post as "curses") is ambiguous. For instance, it might mean, in English, to blaspheme, or to degrade or shame, which I think we can all agree is not acceptable.

The last thing I would do is take an English translations of the books of the bible literally. Though some regard it as a rulebook, many other realists consider it a guidebook.

I'm buddhist, and in my studies I foud the Holy Bible quite contradictory. For example:

God said he created all men equal, and they should therefore be treated equally. Then, in a later passage, it is said that no blind of eye, deaf of ear, or mute of tongue is worthy to worship in the House of God.

There are many contradictions like this. And many mistranslations.

Example: The Holy Bible states that Moses 'parted' The Red Sea. He REALLY 'parted' the REEDED Sea, making that any sea, anywhere. He didn't 'part' it either. The force from a volcanic explosion at one end of the 'Reeded' Sea, sweeping all the water temporarily to one side, not down the middle.

In short, I belive the Holy Bible to be contradictory, mistranslated, and therefore misleading. Though I'm not putting down Christianity itself :).

I don't think the Holy Bible should be taken serious in any case whatsoever, and urge you all to re-read in, and contemplate it further in hope for knowledge.

He (Jesus) pointed out to those listening that while they had been taught that they should not murder, the real meaning of the Sixth Commandment was that God expects us to value ALL PEOPLE and reconcile all of our differences with others in peace, not just take another's life (Matthew 5:21-26).

I believe that all those "old" rules were not of God but merely one of man made origin. The only rules we are to follow are the 10 commandments. Men, in the bible, made many more commandments - not God. They did these things in the name of God but they were not of God. Jesus came to fullfill the COMMANDMENTS (10 commandments) and (I believe) to do away with the old traditions. People say that it is God's rules to kill anyone who curses thier parents. These are man made rules. Jesus came to do away with those because his message was to love God and love your neighbor and follow the 10 commandments. Those rules do not envoke killing a rebellious teen.

Regarding restitution (verses 38-42), Jesus speaks against revenge and retribution. The common practice was to stretch the limits regarding the laws of restitution to condone vengeance. Concerning the command to love one's neighbor (verses 43-48), Jesus repudiates the commonly held belief that hating one's enemies was lawful and acceptable.

These six illustrations show why Jesus said His followers' righteousness must exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees. Their righteousness was a sham. Exceeding their form of piousness would not be difficult for those who had the repentant attitude Jesus speaks of in Matthew 4:17.

to treat with contempt, bring contempt or dishonour.

this statute was for the tribes of Israel which were the lineage of messiah. God didn't want a bunch of sexual degenerates, perverts, blasphemers, witches etc....in that lineage. Anyone that hates their parents like that to bring dishonour to the family and curse those that gave you life isn't worthy of much.

No.
Jesus Died on the cross, so that sinners may no longer have to pay for their sins with blood. Jesus was the ultimate sacrafice.
