Most likely because that's the only thing they consider a true god.

Maybe they Know there is Only One True God??? Maybe the Question is Ambiguous in clarifying what the Asker means??? Maybe they live in the USA where the Judeao / Christian system is the Basis of Government and the most widely acknowledged "Religious" point of view??? Maybe it's just Ur take on things??? Don't like the Answers to Ur Questions, change the Question or ask somewhere else??? John

God doesn't speak to you, you speak to God. Religion is a scam!!! God may exist but God has nothing to do with religion. Man created religion.
Humans are the most pathetic forms of intelligence, ever.
The only thing that I know is that I know nothing at all, dammit.

Dear joe,
When I attempt top answer a question I ususally quote from the Bible because that book is the words of the only God. There are may false gods but only one true God.
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

well if the person doesn't specify who he is talking about, then everyone will answer in the way of their beliefs....i believe that there is only one God and that would be the God of Abraham.

Abrahams God is the God that created Adam & Eve,
he's also the "I AM" what and whom the other gods are
varies from place to place. By assumption as well as fact,
there is but one God.

My God is the God of Abraham so I'm speaking my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Well considering that the majority of ppl in the US...consider themselves Christian, the assumption comes "easy".
Most ppl if they are asking a question regarding "another god" would ask the question with that particular "god's name" in the reference portion of the question.
As for myself, I answer questions regarding God, because I KNOW there is only ONE GOD!

Well, knowing what you know about this board, if you want to talk about about a god other than our God, you might want to call them by name or at least mention what religion you are talking about. We can't read your mind.

Probably because the God of Abraham is the King of King, Lord of Lords and God of all gods. He's the only one who is ALIVE, REAL and LOVING everyone.
He has to be real because exactly as you asked- why when somebody says God they automatically think HE's the one being talked about? Because the IS the one to talk about. All those other 'gods' are false and dead. My God speaks- feels- breathes HE LIVES!
