Is the pope dividing those of the Christian Faith? Is this the reason why Christ Himself dispised religion? Could the pope be the anti-Christ?

Not sure if he's serving the same God that I am:

"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law." -- Deut 29:29 KJV

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" -- Heb 5:9 KJV

"And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." -- Acts 16:30-31 KJV

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." -- Romans 10:13 KJV

I'm gonna take Jesus' lead, which no man can ever do.

Thank you Jesus for the blood you shed for me at Calvary! Thank you for the Holy Ghost! Hallelujah! You are worthy of my praise!

How about you?

I don't see this as a very good religious move on his part. I'm not sure why he's doing it except to bring back the more conservative Catholic doctrine that he prefers.

I don't think the pope is or ever will be the Anti-Christ spoken of in Rev. I think he will be set up in the Middle East where everything else will happen. Now, I guess it could be a pope but it could be anyone for that matter.

Religion is a trap for people. People would rather follow traditions then what the Bible says. People follow their church's doctrine instead of reading the Bible...The Bible should be final authority. I'm talking about all denominations too.

The way I read that he's just going along with what the Catholic chruch has been saying since the 1500s. Now one would think in this day and age when more and more christians are actually reading the Bible and have access to Church history they would realize that this is erroneous but then again the Catholic chruch also believes the Pope is infalliable.

Personally I believe only one human has ever been infallible and that is Jesus Christ.

It is mostly Catholic teaching that they are the only ones with the keys of Peter.

I don't think this Pope is anti-Christ. I believe he is a Christian. But he is just plain wrong about this. And it is because of Catholic false teaching. Some of the tares in the Catholic Church.

What we need to do is shine the light in all the dark corners of all the Churches.

There is coming a day when Jesus will divide the tares from the wheat.

Do you know when the Protestant Reformation happened, the same questions could have been asked of the reformers.

Christianity has been divided for some time. Even people in the same church do not believe exactly the same things. If is an illusion of uniformity. If you go to far out, then you are deemed heretical or not a Christian.

Jesus Christ, not the pope, is head of the Church. The Orthodox Church, which is never mentioned in these arguments, is the original Christian Church. Throughout all the turmoil, reformations and changes, the Orthodox Church is the one which has not changed. If any of you want to learn about Christianity, I would recommend studying the Orthodox Church. It's amazing.

The Pope is a Catholic, not a Christian or Protestant. This has been their view since before Elizabeth I was queen of England. There is nothing new in this statement.

I'm wondering what I should call the place I go on Sunday, now that I've been told it's not a 'church.'

Thankfully, he didn't say I'm not a Christian. Or did he?

Does this mean that all Christian's can start picking apart the RC Church again, since I guess I'm really a Catholic?

He wasn't thinking. He was just trying to be SUPERIOR.......
Remeber, he's just an imperfect man, whether he realizes it or not, he's just flesh and blood, and those who for whatever reason choose to follow him should think about that.
They would also benefit from reading Matthew &:15-17

Could he be the anti-christ? Well, if he's not promoting the true teachings of Jesus, then he is not for the truth of God's word.

Shame on him! But he has to answer to God for his deeds... and I wonder what he will have to say.
