The word Christian means Follower of Christ. In order to be a Follower of Christ, you need to acknowledge him as the Head of the Church because that is what is taught in the Bible.
The Catholic Church claims that the Pope is the head of the Church. Therefore by definition, Catholics cannot be considered Christians. The correct designations for Catholics is Paptist which means Follower of the Pope.
Also, the Catholic Church claims that their religion goes all the way back to the original group of believers and that Peter was the first Pope. However, the idea of one person being Head of the entire Church didn't come into existence until four hundred years after Peter died. Therefore, he could not have been the first Pope.
In summary, Catholics are not Christians. They are using the name of Jesus as a marketing tool to promote their own religion.

The irony of this is both funny and sickening. Funny, in that Protestants have accused us Catholics of not being Christians. They've bashed us again and again in this Forum, not caring who they hurt with their lies and viciousness. Now that the shoe is on the other foot and pinching badly, they're all whining and moaning, "How could they accuse us of not being true Christians?"
The sickening part is that apparently, no one is learning from this. It's OK for Protestants to tell us Catholics that we're not real Christians and that we're going to hell, but the minute that the situation is reversed, they're all for some kind of fatwah against the Pope.
So if the Pope is going to hell for judging other Christians and their churches, he's going to have a lot of company -- i.e., all those Protestants who've hated and judged us Catholics all these years.

Just like it was not his place to Judge us by our beliefs it is not ours to Judge or condemn him. God and only God knows what is truly is the heart of the pope and all of us. Do I think what he said was right? NO I don't agree with him or for that matter the religion.
I am a Christian I attend a Baptist Church I read from the bible I have accepted the Lords gift of Salvation. I do not believe I will go to hell but again it is not my place to say that either Only GOD knows whats in my heart and will judge me accordingly.
So my answer is no I do not think the pope should go to hell

the pope is responsible for all those he leads astray...
catholics have the greatest adherance worldwide ....
meaning, many will not enter heaven if they remain faithful to that teaching.
the catholic church is the "great whore" ... & upon her forehead is written MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS & ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH". (rev. 17 & 18)
the word "mother" indicates she has daughters.
the pope claims the protestant churches are "daughters" of the catholic church.
they are daughters b/c they have retained the belief in the trinity that the catholic church made up in the 300s & they use the baptism formula that the catholic church changed from the way the apostles baptized in the early church.
the pope does not teach the plan of redemption according to Jesus Christ.
everyone who follows false doctrine will not enter heaven.
the pope claims he has the power to change whatever he wants in scripture as he claims he is the "vicar of Christ" on earth (meaning the substitute for Christ). that phrase is on the headpiece he wears.
it is understandable why God will take out His wrath on all that follow this false doctrine.
however, He is calling all to come out of that false doctrine ... rev.18:4-5 .... "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities."
according to bible prophecy, who ever is the pope at the time of the reign of the antichrist will be the false prophet.
both will be thrown into the lake of fire that burns with fire & brimstone where they will be tormented day & night for ever & ever. (rev. 19:10)

Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html
Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.
While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:
Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.
Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.
All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.
With love in Christ.

What John above said.
We all deserve Hell for being sinners. The grace of God allows us the opportunity to receive salvation and redemption of that sin.

Only God can decide. He does say its not right to judge other so the pope really doesn't have any right to do that but when his judgement day come, he'll have to answer to God.

The Pope of Rome simply wants to bring back the days of Constantinople to allow the destruction of everyone not willing to come under the holy see's control or kiss his feet! Remember how the "Church" deemed the early Christians, known as the Cathurs, as heretics and condemned them all, including infants, to be exterminated?

No, I don't believe anyone has the right to go to hell because of that. Everyone judges, so should we all deserve to be in hell because of our beliefs, whether it's religion or not. No, I don't feel so.
Everyone sees the understanding after they pass anyways.

If you are a educated person and christian, then you know not
to listen to the pope. The vatican is only looking out for their
own interests. So I think the ones that believe that the pope speaks to god should go to hell. But that would also go for the poeple who believe their, doctors, commericals, goverment and so on and on and on.
