*Is Catholic*

No. We dealt with this back in the Middle Ages. To believe that the Pope can be fired or removed is the heresy of counciliarism.

The Pope is the suprime lawgiver in the Church. Canon Law does not bind the Pope. A Pope could make such a law, but the next Pope is not bound to follow it and could simply remove it from Canon Law.

A Pope can be forced out of office

Fired - no.

Removed - yes, if incapacitated.

This was discussed with the worsening Parkinson's disease of Pope John Paul II.

If necessary, the College of Cardinals could meet and declare that a pope no longer has control of his faculties and is therefore impeded in his office.

The Pope can also resign.

I'd have to look up the date, but there was a certain year when two different Popes were defrocked.

You're an idiot. If you are not Catholic, you don't have to listen to the Pope. Catholics believe their church is the "One true church". It is a central belief in their religion. They have believed that Protestants are heretics for a VERY LONG time. This is nothing new.

I'm not sure. I think they can either step down willingly or die. If there is a mechanism for removing him I've never heard of it.

As far as I know, they can only be removed by voluntarily stepping down or by death.
