Well, not being a member of the RC, apparently I am not a real Christian. At least, I do not belong to a real church..according to the latest words from the Vatican. Maybe I'm wrong, but I do not recall reading where Christ told his followers to start only one church..I was under the impression his wish was that we spread His message. I won't start quoting passages etc. but my interpretation of His words apparently vary greatly from what the Pope's is. Sorry, but I can't follow how a man can claim to be a 'direct descendant' from someone when the post is an elected one. Not to mention the many other concerns I have with certain other actions/words which have come from Rome. I have always believed 'to each their own,' and that it matters not where you 'pray' but how. So...I agree with your last statement..I cannot relate to this Pope.

Have you ever hear a complete statement from the Pope?
I personally think the media puts the worst spin they can on just about anything that comes out of the Vatican.
Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html
Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.
While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:
Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.
Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.
All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 819: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p3.htm#819
With love in Christ.

*Is Catholic*
If a statement is eternal, then how can it be outdated?
There is but one God, one Christ, one Spirit, one Church. It is not that difficult.
I relate very much to Pope Benedict XVI. He truly is a man of God and is leading all of Christ's sheep in a very holy manner.
If people actualy read the writings of Pope Benedict /Ratzinger, they are very contemporary and very uplifting.
But people do not read them, so they cannot relate.

I think he's trying to find a way to get more converts. His pockets are probably running a little low.

I think he's doing good. He's driving people away from Catholicism, and shattering the illusion of Christian unity.

Doing his job right? Like the nazis wanted a pure race(who he served), he merely wants a "pure" church.
