Oh you were around to see if the flood existed or not? Take a look here at www.answersingenesis.org You can read some of these articles. Great insight. If you watch the news you see more and more archeological finds proving the Bible to be accurate and true. If you read Daniel and Revelation you will find what was written thousands and thousands of years ago are happening today. And no its not vague like some Nostradamus prediction. If you search you will find Him and have all the truth you can handle here on earth. Repent and be baptized. Peace out.................

Well, if you consider what both the Bible says and what science has found, then no, Adam and Eve were not the first people. I would like to talk to an expert of whatever branch of science this would be that could really answer questions like this, because I have heard that there IS evidence that Noah's flood did take place. There are tons of old wives' tales floating around, but the bottom line is none of us were there and we only have writings and science to give us a glimpse of what went on.

Prehistoric man and dinosaurs clearly existed because we have their fossils, etc. But how does that fit in with the Biblical account of creation?

The first verse says that "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." The very next verse says that it was "without form and void", and goes on to show God putting the heaven and the earth back together. Well what happened between the creation and the putting back together? Utter destruction, apparently. Getting into the actual Hebrew here, the word “was”, literally translated, means “became”. The Hebrew, "tohu va bohu" literally means “chaos and ruin”. So it is translated, “And the earth became chaos and ruin.” What had been created, was now destroyed.

Who knows what happened between those two times, or how many billions of years it could have been.

So no, Adam and Eve were not the first sapiens, but they were the first ones mentioned in the Bible.

You are correct. Adam and Eve were not the first people God made. Adam and Eve were only the first in the line of PERFECT people God made in the line that would produce Jesus of Nazareth, The Christ. Yes, Eve was beguiled by the serpent. The devil did not want Gods plan to suffice. Thats why one son was bad and the other was good. The devil tried again when he got the bad son to slay the good one. But it didn't work - God is always going to have the upper hand in every situation. When Adam cast the bad son, Cain, out he went off and took up residency with the 6th day creations elsewhere. The "world" was not meant to be in the literal sense - to Noah, it *was* (or seemed) to be the "whole" world. With the bible, you have to read between the lines...when you do, it makes more sense. I suggest getting study bibles or companion bibles...they'll help make sense of more things to you. God bless.

Adam and Eve were indeed real people, as you can see from reading the Genesis account of creation. Think about this: are you a real person? Where did you really come from? Not just from your parents.....but from your foreparents of long, long ago. Adam and Eve.
Look at the world around us.....how did it come about? It was created by the same God who created our first parents Adam and Eve....every race on the face of the earth, came from these 2 people.
Look at the state of mankind today, all the wars and hatreds and violence...where did that come from? Adam and Eve when they sinned brought forth all this trouble. Remember, in the beginning of their lives they lived in peace in a paradise along with the animals and there was no trouble.
As for the flood of Noah's day,....how do you know it was local? What evidence can you provide to back up your statement? List a book please or some source of information so that I can check it out.....I'm interested in knowing how you came to this conclusion.

In conclusion, the Bible is NOT a book of fairy tales, it is a real life account of human lives and events that actually took place at that time. 100 yrs ago people lived, died, and left history for us to study today...do you think that they didn't exist and these books that we study and read just miracuously appeared?
We can TRUST the Bible, because it is the word of God and contains vital truths to benefit our lives today.

According to evolution humans and the monkey/ape family once had a common ancestor but through mutations, their families broke apart by a gradual split which took a very long time. Because of this I think it is almost impossible to define an exact first generation of humans. I dont think that there were such people as Adam and Eve but it is a myth passed down until finally it was recorded. My religous beliefs are that the bible is a metaphore to life but i am very confused and my beliefs constantly change

I believe most of the important lessons in the the Bible are not the literal facts, but the morals of the stories it tells. For example, whether or not there was one man, ADAM and one lady, EVE doesn't even matter that much. What matters is that they lost paradise because they couldn't resist temptation. The bible is telling you about Human Beings "fatal flaw".

Since biblical people came up with this story, we have learned that when members of the same family bear children, the offspring are always born with genetic defects like sterility and Mongolism(Down Syndrome). If you want proof, marry your cousin and have children. The story of Adam & Eve is a fabrication of people who didn't know any better. Religion wants you to believe that its the word of God while they pass around a collection basket.

What historical events have been proven untrue? None. There has not been any archaeological finds that dispute anything in Scripture, rather, they support the historicity of Scripture. The flood was world wide, otherwise, wouldn't it have made more sense for God to tell Noah to simply go where it was not flooding? You are on dangerous ground you take it upon yourself to determine what is true and what isn't in the Scriptures. It is written that Adam and Eve were indeed the first humans, and Jesus confirmed it.

Mar 10:6 But from the beginning of creation "God made them male and female."

Do you have more insight concerning truth than Christ?

No, Adam and eve were NOT the first people.
If my memory serves me correctly, on the 5th day God created man, then after God rested on the 7th day, he then created Adam and Eve. The Answer is in the book of Genesis.

Do you think first Adam was really first 'atom'? First collection of molecules to create a human form? Eve='life' (Hebrew). Do you think 'life' breathed this 'atom' into being? Just curious.
