According to Mormons, black people are descendants of Cain in the Old Testament, and their skin turned black as a result of the mark of a curse that was therefore put on them.

Modern day aboriginals of the Western Hemisphere are referred to as Lamanites by Mormons. Mormons claim that they are descended from a group of Hebrews and Egyptians who crossed the Atlantic Ocean centuries ago. According to Mormon mythology, the Lamanites fought with a similar group called the Nephites, and again were given the mark of a curse in the form of dark skin, for alleged wickedness and corruption.

The lightest skinned people in the world possibly live in Sweden, sometimes referred to as 'Sexy Sweden'. To the extent that Miss Nude Stockhom's choices are a reflection of certain cultural values, how does she still get to be light skinned and blonde?

Mormons might be horrified at how white my complexion becomes in the winter. Fortunately, for them, the tan on my arms stays longer.

I mean, isn't it virtually inevitable that science will eventually map the entire human genome, learn how to manipulate it and eventually engineer it, and thereby reduce human consciousness to nothing more than a chemical reaction dictated by a deoxyribonucleic code? Why don't we just cut to it?

IF God created the Universe he created all the laws that govern the universe, let's focus on planet earth.
When he created the earth he created it in a way in which EVENTUALLY in time we will have EARTHQUAKES. An earthquake is caused by tectonic plates getting stuck and putting a strain on the ground. The strain becomes so great that rocks give way by breaking and sliding along fault planes .
Now God made the earth , Christains love to make the excuse that we have all the diseases and earthquakes because Adam and Eve ate a fruit, disobeyed God, HE HAD ALREADY MADE THE EARTH IN A WAY WE WILL BE SUBJECTED TO EARTHQUAKES ,AND OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS BEFORE ADAM AND EVE DID ANYTHING, SO WHO IS TO BLAME FOR THE EARTHQUAKES AND ALL THE NATURAL DISASTER ????

Did they consider black people to be human?
How did they support their point of view with the bible??
It didnt happen so long ago so i suppose many people in here will know about that period in history

We do! Like I've often said in Answers, just grab your ar5e. Feel that? That's your tail.

Foetuses have tails in the womb. The tail disappears before birth, leaving just the coccyx bones - but occasionally it doesn't. Babies are born with tails quite regularly, several inches long and moving of their own accord, and often covered in hair. Quite legitimate fifth limbs; skin, flesh, jointed bone... definitely tails. They get removed by surgeons in developed countries, however in the 3rd world it's a different story...

If this is not a genetic throwback, then why is it happening? And why are dolphins occasionally found with hooves on their flippers?

Have you an explanation, or is God just having a joke?

Are the slowest to give it to others?

So often there are questions on here by people who target audiences that they know aren't going to agree with them. They ask for other people's opinions. And then they cry and scream when they aren't supported.

One of the big ones is homosexuality. Obviously, Jews and Christians aren't going to support this. And because of this, they aren't going to support gay marriage. I can tell you from a Jewish point of view it's not just about following some ancient rules that you may believe to be outdated. The union between man and woman in the covenant of marriage is the most sacred between humans - and it has many secrets that are unlocked when this union happens. Secrets of the Torah and the relationship between G-d and man.

Why do people seem to crave approval from those they can't get it from? Why is my opinion and belief less then yours? And why be so angry and full of hate towards us? I do not treat you this way.

So the conversation goes like this:

John: "I was thinking... (long pause).."
Me: "Did it hurt?"
John: "I think the reason why atheists don't believe in God, is because they really secretly DO believe in God, and they know how powerful He is, so they don't believe in him that way they don't have to FEAR Him.."
Me: "um....................... yeeeaaah. I'm gonna walk away now, bye."

What are you favorite theories on why you (or atheists in general) don't believe in God?

For instance, if a person is hypoglycemic and can't go without food for longer than 3 hours or so, otherwise their blood sugar levels become imbalanced, they get dizzy and can faint - would not fasting (on days when fasting is important by religious doctrines) due to such a health problem be ok from a Christian or Jewish perspective?

Jesus could not both reveal who his Heavenly Father is and still be accepted by the Jews of his own time so he kept his Father anonymous, or did he? The comparison between Mark:14:61-62 and Matthew:23:63-64 is only the beginning of the first clue in New Testament scripture that suggests a major difference between "Son of God" and "Son of the Blessed One". Examine all the evidence in the free eBook www.snipurl.com/1nxk6 then give your best answer. For those who have already read "The Old Serpent Chained" please skip over that first section which was included for completeness.

Can you be open enough to understand why one believes the way one does? or the way one feels if you seek their experiences, pain, or whatever. What if it happened to you, and how would you feel, perhaps you would feel the same.

I WAS DOING SOME REFLECTing on why does my blood brother or sister believe the way they do on issures, why they differ from I. I ascertain it's the different ways we experienced life, the difference is the ways we lived and went through experiences.
Do you agree?
What's your perspective on this question, or on why your blood brother or sisters perspectives differ from yours?

A lot of people here seem to have a knack for relating everything to Christianity. I'm thinking we'll make this a competition. Alright relate : "I can't find my screwdriver, and my wife has syphilus. What should I do?" as best you can. You get bonus points for quoting a bible verse.

Good luck!

This is a serious thing, i have always wondered.

Since i was young people have always asked why i turned my back on christianity and how i could ignore jesus who died for our sins.

I also remember reading about his words on the cross. If i remember rightly he cried out "Father, why have you forsaken me?" Now, if he thought his father had forsaken him and not saved him... How did he actually die for our sins? It seems more like he was not given the release he was expecting.
