why don't you just cough up the dough and send them to a private religious school?

and don't tell me you can't afford it. just pray to god for the money. i'm sure he'll understand and give it to you.

oh, & lion of judah: are you seriously blaming ALL school shootings on the absence of religion in schools? give me a break. when are parents going to take responsibility for their own damn children?

it will be a cold day in hell when i allow religion to be forced on my kids in any school.

Ahhh yes, because a few teachers are really crappy and do disgusting things, that means ALL teachers must be doing them, right Mr. Math? Praytell, when exactly was the last time YOU were in a school, volunteering YOUR time, checking on YOUR kids education, etc? Or do you just have a grudge from when you were in school? The teachers of the world, who work really hard to actually get information that's applicable to the world and life into kids, thank you wholheartedly for your blanket statements.

Yes, a lot of kids act horrible in schools today - but where exactly does that stem from? Oh that's right - THE HOME. Why do people expect schools to teach their kids everything from the subject matter all the way to personal hygiene? Is the teacher responsible because your 13 year old still sucks her thumb while at school? Ahh no, that's a home issue. Is the teacher to blame because your kid cannot wipe their behind adequately and gets named the stinky kid? Ahh no, that's a home issue. The certification, the degree is gotten to certify that we are adequately educated to to in turn educate your children. Not certified nursemaids, hygenists, nannies, or clowns to entertain.

To answer the question finally - I agree - you want special schooling, send your kids to a special school that will offer that curriculum. otherwise, accept that there is a nationally set curriculum that most schools follow.

Creationists are led by political neo-cons, who want a dumbed down populace. I good way to get them to reject good education is to claim to disavow science, and claim to be evangelical. Too bad the Bible is not a science text book, but a spiritual guide book.

Unfortunately the neocons and pseudo-Christian Republicans all are more rich than kind, and conveniently forget that Jesus also said, "It is easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven". They only give to their own causes, to build a political base. They like faith-based charities, but mainly if they are evangelical. Again, helps build the political base of the easily duped, to make the neo-cons richer and richer as they tell more lies.

I don't think you can pray for anything for yourself. One reason so few prayers are ever answered. God is not a lottery ticket or slot machine. What a poor religious attitude, pray enough, he'll do something for you.

As a Christian homeschooling father, I see nothing hard about this concept. What is hard for people like you to understand is the reverse: The public school system has no constitutional right to exist. If anyone disagrees, please furnish ARTICLE AND SECTION of the US constitution. The closest our Federal Constitution comes is the tenth ammendment to the bill of rights, which for those of you who are public schooled, states that rights NOT specified herein are left up to the states. Most states have a "free" public education in their STATE constitution. State constitutions are much easier to ammend than the Federal Constitution; and there are MANY TAXPAYERS such as myself who would love to see the public schools closed forever and let me keep my tax $$$$$ to educate my own children. I put 5 digits to the dollar signs because the Lord has blessed me with a good job and a very nice house, and I have tax records to show 5 decimal places to my SCHOOL taxes, which people like you insist be used for schools which are unfit to educate my children. I am not Catholic, but Catholic private schools CONSISTENTLY turn out academically superior students using less money per student than superfunded public schools in high tax rate "desirable" neighborhoods. Obviously, the solution IS NOT more money. The solution to school shootings, drugs, teenage pregancy and other myriad problems is simply to abolish the public school system that is broken beyond repair. I am not some right wing nut; the rest of society is whacked. Do you support abortion? Gay rights? Separation of church and state? None of these are constitutional or biblical. I am quite sick of double taxation, and being mandated to financially support beliefs such as yours that are abhorent to me. I hate evolution with every dollar I'm taxed; and God hates evolution because it is a lie straight from the pit of hell.

The Scopes trial decision was that both creation and evolution be given equal time in the school. It is amazing to me that people who are claiming to be the logical rational ones are the one angrily throwing diatribes and caught up in emotional reasoning. This is what you have to offer?

BURN!!!

Did you see that?!?!

THAT JUST FRIGGING HAPPENED!

I love this lady!

Note - Lions of Judah,

I also remember gay kids being beaten to death by Chrisitans and it not being considered anything bad whenever prayer was school enforced. They were evil little punks then, your fear has kept you from taking charge of the neighborhood you live in in these sue happy times to bring back peace for your fellow man. Religion will not solve problems, your actions will quell the violence around you, not your cries to a God that obviously doesn't care or doesn't exist.

If the schools did their job and were secular, there would be no need to send kids to private religious schools.

Schools have a responsibility to teach THE TRUTH. and JESUS IS THE TRUTH.

John 14:6  Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.

We could argue like people do that students need to be exposed to every point of view. But the time quickly approaches when the liars will have to answer to THE TRUTH.

-LOVE your neighbor as yourself
Amen.
