Maybe because he wanted to play around for awhile, as with play dough. Or, he kept experimenting until he got to earth where he liked what he had made. I agree with the comment that we really don't know if there is "life" on the other planets. It may not be as we are but another type of life form.

How do you know no one lives on them? we haven't found all the planets there are, and even if we did, how would we know if no life was there without actually going there?
