I copied this from someone's answer to another question, someone who obviously was not a Christian.

"The KKK.for example, think they are better than everyone else, and they are 'Christian'. "

Why do people think that all these murderers, or racists were Christians like Hitler and the KKK? They burned crosses. That was a defiant act of scorning Jesus and what He did on the cross.

Do you honestly think that the bible is true? I believe in God I am just not sure wether I should believe in the bible or not. To me it is just a book written by people. I would like to hear from both sides of the arguement. Some things I would like to hear are wether or not you believe in hell... if the bible is 100% true.... if premartial sex is a sin and if it will send a person to hell even i they believe in jesus... and why do you believe the religion that you believe? Unless you are athiest in which case I would like to know why you are athiest? The main problem i hae with religion is that it seems like one huge guilt trip... like I cant fulfill any of my desires without it being a horrible sin. I would love to hear from everybody.

Over the past year or so, I've experienced two tragedies (the death of my father and the death of a close friend) that I've yet to fully move pass. I've also had to deal with the stresses of work and school, and as a result, have been experiencing bouts of depression as well as near constant feelings of anxiety and doubt. One of the things I'm doing to try and combat these feelings is begin to learn more about Buddhism and practice meditation. I'm hoping that, with a more serene mind, I'll be able to handle the grief I still feel for my father and friend, as well as the everyday stress of my life.

My question is, is there anyone here who knows about Buddhism or meditation who can give me a few pointers? I've started reading some books and plan to make a trip to the local Buddhist temple, but I'd love any input you all could give. Thanks. :)

I know the Bible says give your worries to the Lord and I do but today I just kinda let go. I had a friend of mine that I went to school with that died the other day. He was only 37 and he died of cancer of the esophagus. He was a pro golfer and lived life to the fullest. It makes me think of my own life. I'm suffering from an autoimmune disease and so far the doctors haven't figured out what I have. It seems like every day it's getting worse. I'm getting depressed over it. I don't want to make anyone mad, christians of atheist but it really sucks being like this and I thought since I posted in here alot that I could vent in here too. Thank you

The footnote on Matthew 7:1 says that 'The Christian is not to judge hypocritically or self-righteously...To obey Christ's commands in this chapter, we must first evaluate a person's character...'. I feel hard to understand well the difference between 'judge' and 'evaluate'. If people evaluate something, don't they judge them?

I feel horrible and guilty about being aroused all the time. It has gotten to the point where it is maddening. Everyone tells me to just find a guy to have sex with or pleasure myself but I want to save myself for my mate. I'm finding it difficult to sleep and I want to overeat. I have avoided reading anything arousing even changed my diet. What can I do so that I won't end my life over something so insane as this? Please help me!!!!

Ok, so here is the deal, I married a man when we had known each other for three years, we then (three more years later) had a child together, and he never supported us as a family, and he always relied on his family to support us. I found out that he was still dealing drugs and stealing from his elderly grandmother. I couldn't take it anymore, so my son and I left him.
Before the birth of our son, we were both unfaithful to each other. ( it was an open secret, don't ask don't tell) We both know that we do not want to be toghether anymore. There is no longer any attraction, physically, spiritually, mentally or otherwise.

A few months after I left I met another man who does support us, and loves my son very much. I have not yet divorced my husband, but am trying very hard to get that done. I have lived with the new man for 4 1/2 years. We want to marry. Is this acceptable to God?

Please no angry or stupid answers. I need to know this.

Why do people need to convert other people I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like me if I tried my hardest to convince you god didn’t exist you would want me to shut up correct ?
So then why do it to other people can’t they believe what they want . If the want to believe that god is a feather serpent let them what harm does it do to you I don’t care what religion you are don’t force your beliefs onto me or anyone else if you want to have a conversation about religious beliefs please do just don’t try to change others people beliefs
and one more thing and this is to everyone who doesn’t understand evolution. know that evolution doesn’t happen by chance but by natural selection and variation I will try my best to explain this. If you look around you will see that nobody and no animal of the same species is alike. Even identical twin are different this is variation. natural selection occurs when one of these many variations is selected over another variation and the variation or

If a woman publicly stated that she had an abortion, would you walk up to her, look her in the face, and call her a murderer?

And to make it fit the section: would doing so be a sin?

I know I know, this question belongs in the surfing section of Y&A, but no one ever hangs out there anyway, and surfers are such nazis.

This "Best stuff for your stick" question was brought to you courtesey of Serafim.

Two questions about these stances on abortion:

1) What are the exact passages from the Bible that refer directly to abortion?

2) How can something that applies to all women around the world be argued against with one religious stance?

isn't it enough that we believe in Christ, no matter what church we belong to? i don't see Lutherans going to get Baptists to join their church or vice versa, so why must you try to convert the members of other Christian churches? isn't it enough to just believe in Jesus no matter which denomination you belong to?
