Gordon B. Hinckley: I say this to other people: you develop all the good you can. We have no animosity toward any other church. We do not oppose other churches. We never speak negatively of other churches. We say to people: you bring all the good that you have, and let us see if we can add to it.

It is because the LDS Church believes in direct revelation from God to His prophet. It is because we have additional scripture and do not rely solely upon the Bible to guide us toward salvation and exaltation.
The LDS Church has additional scripture that reveals many truths that were once in the Bible before the centuries of mistranslations, omissions, and burnings.
The Jesus Christ that we believe in is the same Lord that all Christians follow. The difference is the LDS Church has many more truths because of the additional scriptures and we invite all to join with us and learn more of the Lord and to follow His teachings and precepts.
There is much more to following a religion than simply attending one or two services on Sunday and then go home and forget everything taught until the next Sunday.
It is important to say that all religions have truths in them, but their membership might learn a lot more of doctrine, salvation, exaltation, the spirit world, and the kingdoms and glories of God by drawing close to the LDS faith.
Only through understanding that the LDS Church is no demonic cult out to hypnotize and capture its membership can one find peace and happiness while in mortality and to prepare for the eternities ahead.

While some of your answers are close to the point, Mormon thinking they are right and every one else is wrong....you are like the audience in front of a magician. You are only seeing what they want you to see. Having a large membership provides a large stock of people to glean money from. everything from Ward Budgest to Stake Projects and welfare funds, all on top of a 10% tithing. Watch what the other hand of the magician is doing, the LDS Church is a big business. They control stock or outright own many Big businesses. Even if they don't own directly the business, they can influence or control operations via the membership thus involved. The memebership raise their hands in Sacrament services to suport and agree to almost any project or money making venture, the membership. Thats is in company with giving a blanket approval of the high leadership in any thing they wish to say or do. The people are a class of blind sheep to be tended thus the more you can raid from another Religion the more sheep you have to collect from. The religious part is the false front that really most ordinary everyday Mormons do not even recognise. Thus get more member-converts and have lots of children to stock the next generation of sheep.

Isn't it enough for what? I mean, if you believe that believing in Christ is enough, then it's enough. It's not enough for me, but I'm me and you are you. All we want to do is tell everyone what we beleive. It's up to you to decide if you have enough.
Don't you want non- Christians to know about Christ? Is it enough for a Moslem or a pagan to know ABOUT Christ? Or should they believe?
Besides, I had Baptists tell me that if I was anything but Baptist, I was running the ragged edge of disaster. My mom had a co-worker who told her that if she remained in the Methodist church, she was in danger of hellfire. So, don't say tat NO other Christian church trys to get other Christian people to join them.

Most Christian sects believe that they have the "true teaching", and that all other sects have one or more errors in their teaching. For this reason, most sects believe that, for the sake of people's eternal life, they *should* be converted to the beliefs of their own sect. It is true that some groups (Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses come to mind) expend more effort in the U.S. trying to convert nominal Christians than other groups, but evangelical Christians also spend most of their converting effort in converting Christians from other sects.
Remember, even the devils believe (Jam 2:19). We know from the bible that belief (English definition), alone, is insufficient.
Consider the beliefs of the Manicheans of the early church - they believed that Jesus was the savior of the world and the son of God, but they also believed that the God of the old testament was the god of evil, the one from whom Jesus was meant to save us. They became a very powerful and widespread sect, with many followers. If your best friend was a Manichean, would you be content to let him believe what he believed?
The Mormons are trying to get people saved. They believe that *they* teach the *true* path to salvation. If you disagree with their beliefs (as I do) and/or their tactics, remember that they *are* trying to get people saved.

LdS believe that baptism is required to enter the highest heaven. LdS believe that the Priesthood is necessary for the baptism to be valid in heaven. LdS believe that the Priesthood was lost with the death of the lost Apostle in the Apostolic Age. LdS believe that this Priesthood was restored to Joseph Smith Jr through angelic visitors (namely John the Baptist and the Apostles Peter, James, and John). Ergo LdS believe that only LdS will make it into the highest heaven.

Mormons believe they can become a god like Jesus.
“ Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘ I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God. (Isaiah 44:6)
Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one. (Isaiah 44:8)
Aslo see Isaiah 45:5; 45:14; 45:21; 45:22; 46:5; 46:9; 43:10 all of these verses say there is only one God
Yet part of the mormon doctrine of God is the belief that every male mormon can become a god himself? joseph smith said, " You have got to learn to become gods yourselves the same as all gods before you." Brigham Young said, " The Lord created you and me for the purpose of becoming gods like himself. We are created to become gods like unto out father in heaven.

Just believing is not enough. The evil spirits believed and called out to Jesus saying, "Have mercy on us" If just believing is enough, all would be saved even the evil spirits that went into the swine (pigs). But of course the evil spirits cannot be saved. Nor can anyone who are merely "hearers" of the word and not "doers."
Matthew taught that those that speak out and say "Lord, Lord" will not be saved but those that "do" his will. in other words, it is clear that we must "obey" and "keep the commandments." It is easy to just say, "I believe" but it takes faith, sincerity, trust in the Lord to "do" his will.
