The idea of an all-powerful being having complete control over our lives scares the **** out of me. I cannot fathom why so many people in this world are attracted to the concept.

It very much depends on what type of God. (Kind/Cruel Ignorant/Thoughtful and Listening) And I would be happy if the God revealed himself. Who wants to believe in a God that humans made up like all of the junk today?

I would be in favor of a personal God that does my bidding....like a Genie. But other than that, who needs God? By definition, "gods" don't have much of a track record. Look at all the unnecessary death in the world....
Now what would be really great would be immortality. But that too is a pipe dream.

When my dog passed away I hoped for a heaven where she could chase all the rabbits and sticks to her great heart's content, but that passed when I realized that she had had a great life and died a happy puppy.
I could go for a heaven where the bar was always open and there was a preponderence of buxom morally lax redheads though...no religions seem to offer that however!

It would be nice to think that there is a loving entity and an afterlife but in order to accept that I would been to suspend belief and ignore the many many logical explanations of this natural universe. I can't say that I DON'T want there to be a god but it is massively unlikely.

no i do not want to be god because in order to be god one would have to believe in a god; however if that is not the case then the answer is still no because I do not want to deal with all the world's problems.

I would prefer there not be a God, particularly in the Judeo-Christian format. I prefer being responsible for my own actions, and the course of my life.

The question is rather like "Do you want 2+2 to equal 9?"

It would depend upon the qualities and nature of the deity in question. Some creep me out; others I view as benign.

Personally I wouldn't want a God, life would have no meaning - destiny and fate in the hands of another...kinda depressing.
