Why do people need to convert other people I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like me if I tried my hardest to convince you god didn’t exist you would want me to shut up correct ?
So then why do it to other people can’t they believe what they want . If the want to believe that god is a feather serpent let them what harm does it do to you I don’t care what religion you are don’t force your beliefs onto me or anyone else if you want to have a conversation about religious beliefs please do just don’t try to change others people beliefs
and one more thing and this is to everyone who doesn’t understand evolution. know that evolution doesn’t happen by chance but by natural selection and variation I will try my best to explain this. If you look around you will see that nobody and no animal of the same species is alike. Even identical twin are different this is variation. natural selection occurs when one of these many variations is selected over another variation and the variation or

I'll answer this question even though I am an atheist because lots of people on this forum have accused me and others like me of trying to convert religious folk...
I only try to explain my viewpoint so when I am challenged. If a Christian posts a question on here for Christians only I won't answer it unless I agree with what he/she is saying. If it's directed at atheists then I have every right, cos I was challenged.
Same in the real world. My Christian colleagues at work aren't silly, and they don't preach to me. So I have the common courtesy not to tell them what I truly think of their beliefs. But when missionaries approach me in the street, or knock on my door... they deserve everything they get!
Plus, people who are members of religions that use coercion or emotional blackmail to obtain or retain members (ie 'cults') need to be kept informed of what they are part of. Right?

You ask a lot of questions. I like being a friend. We try to persuade the unsaved because of what awaits if they do not get saved either before they die or Christ returns and they are still alive. Hell is a place I would not want the worst person in the world to end up in. If you only understood you would have gotten saved long time ago I believe. From your question, I feel like the apostle Paul before the governor the man said almost you caused me to become a Christian. Now I do not doubt anything the Word of God (the Bible) says. I believe it even thought is did not see what the writers witnessed. I believe is as if I actually was a wittiness. that is how much I believe and trust what the Bible has to say regarding eternal life and what happened back then as well.

We preoccupy ourselves so much with changing the lives of others not out of proclaimed sentiments of selfless human charity, but out of our selfish desire to validate our own identities. There is, of course, enormous ego gratification in the exercise of power over other people, but such satisfaction is rooted in our need to have others believe and behave as we do.
— Butler D. Shaffer
So long as man remains free, he strives for nothing so incessantly and so painfully as to find someone to worship. But man seeks to worship what is established beyond dispute, so that all men would agree at once to worship it. For these pitiful creatures are concerned not only to find what one or the other can worship, but to find something that all would believe in and worship; what is essential is that all may be together in it. This craving for community of worship is the chief misery of every man individually and of all humanity from the beginning of time. For the sake of common worship, they've slain each other with the sword. They have set up gods and challenged one another, "Put away your gods and come and worship ours, or we will kill you and your gods!" And so it will be to the end of the world, even when gods disappear from the earth; they will fall down before idols just the same.
— Fyodor Dostoyevsky; (1821-1881)

I don't harp at athiests to convert, that is their choice..
I do pray for everyone in the whole world but I do not push my beliefs on others...
I am saddened that some do not want to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven but nothing I can do about it...
I do witness to others in a kind fashion, never pushy...

I agree... Saying I'm going to hell isn't going to make me believe in God... and shoving how he's supposedly such a great guy won't work either... people just have to deal with the fact everyone's different... including thoughts on religion...

1. Most believers believe they are commanded to believe - it also helps reinforce their insecurity.
2. We are all affected by the actions of others. No religion = no 9/11, no suicide bombers, no witch trials...
