I think its good to have your own opinion, but when you start pushing it on people in rude ways, it drives me crazy!

Other than the 4 gospels this may just be the greatest book on the life of Christ you will ever read. Truely inspired.

South Park. They have been bitching and moaning forever about how evil South Park is and about how it only discriminates against Christians. This is proof that atheists don't care about criticism and Christians are just too easily offended and need to lighten up. When South Park made fun of Christians, the Christians went crazy with protests and all kids of other stupidity. The funny thing is the creators of South Park dedicated 2 whole episodes to bashing atheists. They even made fun of Richard Dawkins. Guess what, not a single atheist protested those 2 episodes. You know why? Because they were funny as hell and atheists know how to take a joke without picketing and causing mass stupidity in the streets. Just lighten up people. Quit taking everything so seriously and just take South Park for what it is, A JOKE!!!!!

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
I was probably busy helping one of the other 16 billion people on the planet you selfish prick

Hanging around the R&S section like a bunch of hate-filled joyless delinquents? Shouldn't they be out on the town blaspheming and building shrines to Darwin?

We are in a time and age that you need to be sure of your relationship with God. It's not about if He come bless you because you have been good or not. It's about if you know God is with you at all times. I do not believe that you are not to far away from God to stay connected to Him. You just have to believe that you can make a difference in your life. I encourage you to take this time in your life to refocus your thoughts and opinions about your relationship with God. You can do anything you put your mind to.

I was told that no matter how good of person you are in this life, you could save millions of peoples lives, cause world peace, etc , if you don't "accept" god as lord you will go to hell automatically, and because he told me that : When I go to heaven's gates They will say I knew I should have accepted because one of his followers told me... so I go to hell....

Doesn't this sound flawed? And If that was true, why wouldn't he just "not" tell me?

I hear this term thrown around like a baseball in a ballpark by all atheists...but I'm very curious as to what that actually entails to you. Are all Christians "fundies" in your eyes? I in no way consider myself a "fundie". I agree with the five tenets that they profess faith in, yet Christians see "Christian fundamentalists" as legalistic people who claim that you either believe their form of Christianity, or none which usually includes certain practices in the church and etc.

So, my question, describe what a fundamental looks like to you.

It's crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't, not without your help. But you're not helping. Why is that?

And forgive him for all the suffering he has caused to so many for so long?

I guess Satan would have to be sorry for everything for this to be possible though which he isn't I imagine. BUT, if he was sorry, would God let him into heaven or..?

So here's the problem: My friend knows that I have a Yahoo Answers ID and she just got one too. She keeps asking me what my account name is so she can check out my questions/advice and add me to her contacts list. I keep making dumb excuses, but I can tell she's getting restless and suspicious. She doesn't know I'm Wiccan, and neither do any of my other friends (My family knows, though). My friend isn't really Super-Christian or anything, but I'm not sure how she would handle it if I told her my religion. I definitley don't want to come out of the broom-closet yet, but she's going to know that I'm keeping something from her. Any ideas on what I should tell her, when she asks me for my account name again? I was thinking about maybe getting a second account and only telling her about that one, but it might get too complicated. Please help me! I really don't want to lose a friend over something like this. Open-minded answers are welcome! Thanks for your time, *Tiger-lily Rain*

Man is willing to go to war and die for his religious beliefs, all without a single proven fact to base what he believes in. If you indoctrinate someone how to act/believe, you can make them do anything you want. Why would anyone want to be a Moslem, Christian, Hindu, etc. when they have been taught how/what to believe vs. given the opportunity to decide what's real?

Self-negation seems to be one of the tentes of Christianity. Christian doctrine teaches that a person must come to Jesus helpless; that no strength is favoured as a person is supposed to depend entirely upon the Lord. I have always found this puzzling. Why cannot Christianity allow for personal pride? Believe me, I have had tons of Christians quote to me about pride going before a fall, that my vanity was going to be my ticket to hell, that Lucifer was lifted up in his own pride and then cast out of heaven, etc., etc....

Personally, I think we all could use a bit of vanity. What is wrong with being your own cheerleader? There is little enough in this world to enforce our sense of self, so why can we not admit proudly that we think highly of ourselves?

I'll admit, I'm vain and proud and think absolutely nothing is wrong with that. As an Atheist, I think that I have confidence in myself. I just wonder why this seems at such variance with Christianity.

~Jack
