Man is willing to go to war and die for his religious beliefs, all without a single proven fact to base what he believes in. If you indoctrinate someone how to act/believe, you can make them do anything you want. Why would anyone want to be a Moslem, Christian, Hindu, etc. when they have been taught how/what to believe vs. given the opportunity to decide what's real?

Some are blind in their faith.
Some have seen things you have never seen.

"At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

I’d rather believe that an intelligent designer created the immensity of the universe, and the magnificence of the earth, rather than an explosion, which, btw, goes against the second LAW (not theory) of thermodynamics. I’d rather believe that an intelligent designer created the wonderful complexity of the human body rather than some absurd theory (evolution has NEVER been proven) that suggests man evolved from various different life forms when scientists have yet to find the missing link between man and any other creature, that has not been hotly debated or disproved (if evolution were true, than there should be millions upon millions of missing links within the fossil record).

And regardless of the facts (we could discuss this for hours because the list is immeasurable), at least the Christian has a hope… a hope that atheists, evolutionists, and big-bang activists don’t have… a hope that gives Christians the ability to live in perfect peace, knowing that some day we will reside in a better place.

That being said, I can honestly say that I would die for my faith too, because this life (although it is important to a degree) is trivial on the grand scheme of things.

1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.

These are the top 2 definitions of faith listed on dictionary.com. Faith is believing without seeing. People having faith in a religion is not different from people having faith in theories like evolution. Neither have been proven, but there is evidence to support both. And before anyone says there is no evidence to support religion, there are findings daily to support many of the world's religions, and you must take into account the personal experiences of each individual person since religion is a personal experience in itself.

I want to be a Christian because having Christ in my life makes me happy and gives me purpose beyond the 75 years I may live here on Earth. It just makes sense to me.

You have the right to decide what is real as a Christian. There is no country in the world that requires people to be a Christian. Maybe that should tell someone something...

One of the most interesting and missed things about religion, especially Christianity, is that you do have the freewill to look at things and decide for yourself what you think is correct. One of the things people (myself included) believe is that God gives you the power of free thought to decide for your self.
People who follow like sheep have never stopped and asked why am I following this? And don't kid yourself atheists do exactly the same thing, they just follow what others say about religion without ever really trying to find out why themselves.

In my opinion, it is man's instinct to believe in a god or afterlife. A few centuries ago, everyone believed in a god. People couldn't feel complete without a religion. After Darwin though, people began to find scientific ways of disproving gods. As a Christian though, I believe God created science, therefore, He is beyond it.

in maximum circumstances, whilst people come of age, fairly whilst theyre young toddlers, they undertaking each and every thing they have been taught. maximum people who have faith in Christ gain this given it is tried and authentic faith it is no longer often blind. many people have considered miracles and Gods goodness firsthand with the objective to do the rest could be no longer in basic terms blind yet stupid.

Faith is not blind. It is the result of reasoned analysis of all the evidence which God has given us. Now as a Christian I have faith in God. Faith in evolution.... Now that is blind faith!!!

Come to Christ!!! Cap'n Arlo
