it never has been, isn't and never will be. if you don't believe the bible, fine, thats you're choice, and i'm not going to stop you. but even the official dictionary deffinition(s) of the word point to it being a place of torment.

1. the place or state of punishment of the wicked after death; the abode of evil and condemned spirits; Gehenna or Tartarus.
2. any place or state of torment or misery: They made their father's life a hell on earth.
3. something that causes torment or misery

i'm not trying to come off as angry or intolerent or anything, you are free to believe whatever you choose, as am i and everyone else...i'm simply curious.

I am asking with all due respect because I am curious to know what it is you are asking when you ask someone to pray for you, or when you announce that you will accept prayer requests.
The Bible is specific about prayer, read on...
"The Bible book of Hebrews speaks of a person that “approaches God.” (Hebrews 11:6) Who is this God? There is but one almighty God, though there are many man-made and false gods. (1 Corinthians 8:5, 6) The almighty God of the Bible is named Jehovah. (Psalm 83:18) He is the Creator of all things, and for this reason prayer should be directed only to him. Jesus Christ clearly taught his followers to pray: “Our Father in the heavens.” (Matthew 6:9) No, Jesus did not teach his disciples to pray to him, to his mother Mary, or to any other person. But God now requires that we recognize the position of his Son and offer all our prayers in Jesus’ name. That is why Christ told his followers: “No one comes to the Father except through me.”—John 14:6."

This applies to everyone here guilty of the following or similar issues:

Religious: People not of my religion, especially non-believers, are just running away from responsibility!/They haven't read my holy text!/They're just angry!/They have no morals!/They know God exists but they reject it!/etc.

Non-religious: They're just running away from responsibility! (funny how both sides say this)/They haven't read their own holy text! (funny how both sides say this)/They don't ever think for themselves!/etc.

Anti-homosexuality: They CHOOSE to be gay!/They just want to have sex with everything!/They're hedonists!/None of them could raise a child properly!/They don't want to take responsibility for what they do!/etc.

and many more...

How can you make these statements about other people, especially if you haven't been in their shoes? How can you say that everyone is the same way even if you HAVE been in their shoes?

Do you not realize how limited every human's experiences are?

Ok, today there have been a few things about hell that came up. Mainly the screams that can be heard. Then I watched something on some guy who claimed to go to hell. The problem I find with these is that they can be explained away easily. Can any of you give me something that can't be. Can't be Biblical, I can explain the Bible away as ********. Can explain away anybodies testimony as fake, so that doen't work. Can explain away the recording because, well quite frankly, didn't sound like people screaming to me. So please, give me something I can not explain away. Something please. Anything! Actually, it doesn't have to be about hell, anything. I want to know that it is real. Thanks for your time.

Would that make you close in on yourself and not want to be around them, or would it make you feel like running as far away as possible?

Keep in mind this quote

A Bother or Sister Offended Is Harder To Be Won Than a Strong City

What do you think your innermost feelings would be
Setting aside
Through all things I am more than a conquer through Christ who loves us and gave himself for us

I know that, and I am aware I can rise above it
It still hurts

Please give me your true feelings Christian or not

Jude 17-21
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

3. Who do you trust to stay with you when things get tough?

I am a born again Christian, saved on June 22, 2003. I have been set free from alot of Occult but I am still in the process of being delivered from demons. Now some of you may believe that Christians can not have demons and some of you may believe that Christian can. But the point is.. we get to heaven through Jesus Christ... God did not say..the ONLY way to get to heaven is if you dont have any demons in you. Anyway I told her to give me sctriptures to back up what she was saying but she could not.. she signed off line.

Numbers 22:

28And (S)the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?"

Doesn't this make you question the Bible a little bit?
