Yes, and according to the reports, he's teh oldest prophet the church has had since the church started.
And he's STILL going strong!
How many think he's going to get to 100?

That's just so cool! If I make it to 97 I'll consider myself fortunate indeed (much less be in good enough health to do all that he does).
I once had the opportunity to hear Lloyd Newell (of "Music and the Spoken Word") speak at a stake Sunday School meeting (I've been involved in my ward's Sunday School in several different capacities over the past several years, and Brother Newell lives in our stake!). Bro. Newell was commenting on how, after Pres. Hinkley returned to Salt Lake after dedicating the temple in New York City, and was back in his office working at 7:30 a.m. the next morning. Bro. Newell was talking with Pres. Hinkley's secretary about how amazing that was, and the secratary (I forget the gentleman's name) said Pres. Hinkley's ability to work like that was due to 10% genetics, 10% divine intervention, and 80% grit.
So may we all learn from Prs. Hinkley's example! (And if Pres. Hinkley should be reading this thread at all: Happy Birthday!!!)

Yay, happy birthday!
He got a building named after him at BYU today, how cool is that.
97 and he is still so funny, he said he was not a stranger to using a wrench, like they used to close the time capsule after he put his cuff links inside.

that's really cool!
I just got back from girl's camp the friday before yesterday.
It was my first year and I loved it.
But that is cool that you guys made the card for president Hinckley.
Do you mean "we" like you and your YW's group?
or "we" as in your family? or what?

That's neat!! We just watched part of his b-day celebration on the news. It's pretty amazing that he's still so spry at his age!! If I'm that healthy when I'm 70, I'll count myself lucky!!!

That's so sweet. It's also so sad his secretaries will toss it with the thousands of other well-wishing cards that came in. It's lonely at the top.
My mother in law is 97. She doesn't even read her cable bill.
