The deepest secret is that life is not a process of discovery, but a
process of creation. You are not discovering yourself, but creating
yourself anew. Seek, therefore, not to find out who you are, seek to
determine who you want to be.

The Mormons misuse John 10:34, “Ye are gods,” falsely implying that Jesus endorsed godhood for man. This cannot be true for several reasons. It does not fit the context of John 10:24-36, where Jesus shows his equality with the Father and deservedly is called God. In contrast, the judges (so-called gods) in Psalm 82:6 were so called because of their lofty position over the people, but God rebuked then for their sins, and they were proven to be not gods after all but fallen, sinful men.
How this passage is to support the Mormon position is baffling, because Mormons say they are gods in embryo and they have not yet reached godhood

didnt say so many "strange" things (Adam and Eve being real, dinosaurs eating cucumbers and playing with children, Noah´s ark being historical event...).
Why is that as time goes by christians need to add "bizarrity" to their beliefs????

I asked another question and FSM popped up a couple times, never heard of it. I'm agnostic/atheist, trying to figure out which one to call myself. Again, no Jesus freak stuff, please!

It's such a mess. I've been considering just covering it in plastic like in a gaudy Italian-American household.

Christianity clams that we are unclean beings and that we are born with sin, but in the bible it says that god created man in his image. How can Gods own image be born with sin. I believe that human kind is born pure and good. It is when that he interacts with the external world that he start defines thing as good and evil, so technically good and evil doesn’t exit. Good and evil is human creation and if we truly realized our pure nature good and evil won’t exist. The only way we can accomplish this is through self reflection and is through mindfulness, it is not through god.

Awarding a knighthood to SALMAN RUSHDIE has definitly exasperated muslims.

Assassination calls have been made for both of them.

Do you think its right to award such controversial personalities.

I personally think this can spread violence...what do you say?

Does telling them that there is eternal punishment for not cleaning their rooms any more conducive to developing a good moral foundation than giving them a week off the playstation?

I call myself agnostic, but I often wonder if its a mislabel. I'm not an idiot (which is why I don't believe in God anyway) and I do understand the gist between the 2 terms. I won't walk up to someone and tell them there in no God, but at the same time if the argument arises, I will give my best explanation of why I believe there is no God. Is that atheism or agnosticism? I will be happy to give more details if requested. PLEASE no Jesus freak answers, I don't need your scripture, bible, or your propaganda.

Texas has a NO Gambling Law. Okay their prerogative! So how come they still allow Bingo and the State Lottery?
Both of these activities are considered as gambling in the UK.

I think it is very hypocritical especially as the Catholics are so against gambling yet they still enjoy paying money to play with numbers to win money or prizes. What do others think?

Satanists worship an unseen being, and many groups practice animal sacrifice and encourage sexual practices that violate the law. Many of their rituals are kept secret because they violate laws of the land, which Christans are taught to obey. [ I will readily concede that some Christians break the law, so please save your fingers on that accustion.] It occurs to me that they have I have never seen them ridiculed for their belief, and many Avatars seem to suggest they are represented here and while they may mock Christians, they seem never to be under fire themselves.

A true master is not the one with the most students , but the one who creates the most masters
A true leader is not the one with the most followers, but the one who creates the most leaders
A true king is not the one with the most subjects , but the one who leads the most to royalty
A true teacher is not the one with the most knowledge, but the one who cause the most others to have knowledge
A true God is not the one with the most servants , but the one who serves the most , thereby making Gods of all others
for this is both the goal and the glory of God, that his subjects shall be no more , and that all shall know god not as the unobtainable but as the unavoidable

( and if anyone knows where it is from can you share please, I have had this so long , I am not sure where it came from )

Why must so many people get so hostile with each other in R&S? Why must there be so many ad hominem attacks and intolerence?

Again, this is regardless of faith/non-faith.
